baby's position ?

At my last appointment at 29 weeks I was told he was head down, great news, but I can feel his arms and legs running the length of one side, the right I think and a boney bum on the left.
Having had one back to back birth, I'm keen to avoid another, has anyone else experienced this and then had the baby come out the facing the right way ?

I'm 35 weeks & at last midwife appt baby was back to back, my 2nd DC too. My midwife has told me that there's plenty of room to move around still & I can feel this in where the kicks & bumps are in my belly which change every 5 mins!

I don't think your baby will be settling in any position for a few weeks yet but spending time on all fours, swimming (on your front) or sitting straddling an upright chair with your front leaning into the chair back iyswim(!) all help to encourage the baby into a good birth position. You can do some groovy stuff with a birthing ball too but I don't know exactly what as I don't have one.

Hope baby plays nicely for you!

If you have legs on one side and bum of left it sounds like your baby is laying down your left side and not back to back, or have I misunderstood?

My son was back to back and didn't turn, I had a very strange shaped bump and my belly button never popped out, which I put down to not a lot of baby at the front! I tried everything, was walking a lot once I was on maternity leave. Sitting on every chair I could the wrong way round, leg either side of the back of the chair and in the evenings was on hands and knees and leaning over my birthing ball. But it always has to be worth a try! Good luck, as millingtonsmummy says the baby has plenty of time to move around.

That's right cinnamon he's non committal at the moment. I'm just worried if he has to move in one direction or the other knowing my luck it'll be back to back.

I wouldn't worry as the baby has plenty of time to get into a good position. Anyhow, it sounds as though the position is fine even now!

Apparently spending time on all fours, perhaps a bit later on in your pregnancy, is one of the best ways of encouraging the baby into the best position-I have heard this from friends who tried it successfully, and 2 experienced obstetric physios, and also my own midwife!
All the best!
