Hi All,

I know this is a bit of a stupid question, but have 2 DC's 6 & 5 and are just about to go away for Easter weekend and thinking of taking them to a theme park one of the days, now as they are both littleies, there is no chance of going on the big rollercoasters, but just wondered if anyone has any experience of what level of ride I can accompany the kids on? Do you reckon if they are suitable for under 1m children they are suitable for pregnant women too?? how about the ones which are classed as "family rides"? i.e. log flumes and the like....what do you reckon?? Surely if you are allowed to fly.....

Sorry if I am being stupid just never had to think of it before now.....

p.s. will be 24 weeks by then

I would be very surprised if the attendants allowed you to get on pretty much anything other than the tamest of tame merry-go-round, and even then they might object!

At all the parks I've been to, pretty much every ride (including log flumes and run-away mine trains) has a huge disclaimer saying that it's not suitable for people with heart problems, back problems, pregnancy, nervous dispositions, etc.

I was at various theme parks last summer (not pregnant at that point ) and even the 4D Movies had special 'static' seats for pregnant women, since they weren't allowed in seats that rocked back and forth a little during the show.

I get the feeling that it could be more than the attendant's job is worth to let you anywhere near a ride, just in case you went into labour or experienced some kind of problem that could later be traced back to the theme park.

However I can't say for sure, so the best thing might be to phone up the theme park of your choice and ask them for advice on what rides you can go on.

I'm 23 weeks myself and was invited to a theme park over Easter, but I've declined to attend since I know I'll end up standing around holding the bags and coats, watching everyone else have all the fun! Seems like an expensive way to be a walking coat-rack.

Do remember the big disclaimers, but just wasn't sure if they were on all rides (I really have never paid that much attention)

Just seems silly that you can go on a plane for 24 hours to Australia but not go on a non jolty/bouncy tame childrens ride.
I just flew back from NYC with horrible turbulence...

I'm not sure Blue - I can see how you don't want your DC's to miss out though, just be prepared to hold the bags.....
