Hi all

I had my first midwife appointment this week and was given lots of things to read. One of them was a Emmas Diary book. Is it worth filling out the registration card and sending it off so i can get the goodie bag or should i not bother?

Anyone had any experiences of them?

thanks

Oh and Fudge my Mum had Emmas diary many years ago with my bro and from what I've read online it doesn't seem that different.

Hermya But you have your prescription form There wasn't anything useful tbh the NHS book thing didn't say anything I didn't already know or could have found out about on any pg website in a lot more detail. Nothing was local specific either which mihgt have been more useful. I just want free prescriptions though (not at all obsessed )

hi Hermya

I also got the NHS Pregnancy book, a parents guide to money folder, a what to avoid leaflet, leaflet on testing for downs, and some info on how to contact the midwife or someone else in her team. Oh and a pot to pee in before me next appointment

Nymph I'm really begining to think that care and that perscription form varies from GP to GP and midwife to midwife. It isn't great at all and makes me a little bit angry.

Fudge Aha maybe these will appear on my scan date, so far I've only seen the midwife at my GP's surgery. I hope I get to see my kickass midwife who I spoke to on the phone .

Nymphadora · 21/03/2010 18:50

fudgecat/Hermya I haven't got a pot either

Hermya321 · 21/03/2010 18:53

Nymph Me neither, we collectively have no litteral pot to p& in.

Nymphadora · 21/03/2010 18:53

I was going to say that but it seemed too obvious

Hermya321 · 21/03/2010 19:24

Nymph sometimes the most obvious ones are the best ones!

hi all newly preg mums on here..

i am 22wks preg with my 3rd DC and i have suffered alot up to now for this lil minx in my tum..

With the 'pots' my advice is that anytime you have any problems you can see ur gp... and in my opinion pick up a pee pot everytime your in the doctors as they give them u in reception (not nice tho if in a cue n ur havin to ask for one lol). i have 3 at home (where the kids cant get them) as at times i have needed to see an emergency doc and they need a sample everytime you see someone. (its hard peein when required lol)This way you always have one. as long as you store unopened so they are sterrile they ok..

As for baby packs info etc.. with my 1st a DS i had everything from the 1st bookin in appointment @ 8wks. However with my DD i didnt get any of these untill i was 12wks and been for my datin scan.
With this preg i had things at 11wks so all
I find myself gettin furious when i read emmas diary lol..

Hope u all r ok and ur not gettin much MS
t care all
