I've got really bad morning sickness (well, all day and all night sickness most of the time ), and one of the few things that has really helped me is ice lollies. I have found that they stayed down sometimes when nothing else would, and they have stopped me getting too dehydrated.

anyway, I came across these ice pops when I was doing google searches, and thought they sound really good, especially the flavour with ginger in and the fact they are natural. I've ordered a box of them but no idea if they'll help, so I just wondered if anyone else has heard of them/ tried them. I figure at least they'll be a change from orange juice ice lollies! (I'm avoiding anything with artificial colouring in as pregnancy seems to have made me sensitive to them.)

I would really love to hear from anyone else who has tried these or similar, and I will report back too once they arrive!

I haven't tried those ones but I did make my own (had morning noon and night sickness until 16-17 weeks with both my girls - nothing with ds!)

For 1 litre water, take a 2"cube of fresh ginger, peel and crush. Juice (and pulp if you like - I did!) of 3 lemons. Steep crushed ginger and lemon pulp in the boiled water for 10 mins, add sugar if you like, strain if you want, and serve! Or put in a jug in the fridge for fresh ginger and lemonade. Or freeze as ice lollies!

I got through loads of lemons, ginger, etc but it was literally the only thing that made any difference at all. The ice lollies (or I would freeze as icecubes and suck as needed) were the best. And I bought so many ice cube trays to make them that I had loads left when weaning dd1 (that was 10 years ago - before BLW was about!!)

Hope that you feel better soon - pregnancy sickness is awful!

I want to make my own! I keep dropping hints to DH to buy me some lolly makers, but he is busy (mainly holding my hair back )
good idea to freeze as ice cubes though, I tried plain ice cubes but they tasted disgusting. Might try making them like that, thank you for the idea!

ginger has really helped me, I was sceptical to begin with as I used to suffer from random nausea and it never helped, but my dad bought me some ginger bread and I have been eating it all day long. I am scared the baby is going to come out a weird orange colour from all the orange juice lollies and ginger!

oh one question - do you boil the water, then take it off the heat and put ginger and lemon in? or do you boil the ginger and lemon in for ten minutes? (pregnancy brain)

ohhh, they look yummy, esp the orange and camomile, and the lime and vanilla...

I have some fruit juice ones in the freezer, made with minimum 50% juice from aldis. they're not bad, but sometimes, I find myself craving the bright blue raspberry ones I used to buy at the local spar shop!

yeah I really hope they are as yummy as they sound, and more importantly I hope they help...
My local shop only stocks orange juice lollies and thats it, otherwise I would have probably tried the bright blue ones too parkj83 . I guess normal non-pregnant people don't normally go through freezer loads of ice lollies in February!
