Dry mouth/nose...

Anyone else find they get a really dry mouth and/or nose at night?

I wake up in the night and my mouth feels like someone's rubbed cotton wool around the inside and soaked up all my saliva. Then last night it was my nose as well, it was so dry it hurt to breathe through it and felt like it was burning. I had to use a cotton bud to coat the inside with vaseline just so I could breathe comfortabley.

Is any of this normal?

Has happened to me! I got a cool mist humidifier and it has really helped.1

I suffered with the dry mouth thing for a good while, but for me it was caused by a stuffy nose and having to breathe through my mouth.

In the end, after trying Olbas Oil, propping myself up with lots of pilows etc, I bought some of those nasal strips (I used BreatheRight but I think there are other brands too) and they did the trick instantly. Was able to breathe comfortably through my nose all night.

I still always need a glass of water by the bed as I get thirsty quite a bit, but all in all a much better sleep... still have to get up for countless trips to the loo though .

Hope that helps!

All the time, get it anyway (something to do with where we live apparently) but like Curly I use Breatheright strips, they are bloody expensive, but the boots own are pretty crap. Breatheright are the best.

Has anyone tried the mint breath strips? They are a bit cheaper but I'm not sure if they work.

What I mean is I get it when not pg, but worse when pg.

Thanks guys.

Roary - not sure a humidifier would be a good idea in our place as we already have a bit of a damp prob and I don't want to risk making it worse.

Bexxaa - Having LOADS of water...but as CurlyLJ says it means countless trips to the loo! Mind you, I already spend 3/4 of my life on the loo

Bumperlicious - I might try those strips...I'll let you know how they turn out.

I have the past couple of nights but I've just caught a cold and I think it's more likely to be that. I was contemplating drinking my daughter's milk from her cup actually but then decided that was a bit mean.
