When should I be seeing the midwife

Simple question really.
I feel like I've been chasing my tail and still no appointment to see midwife. I'm 9 weeks now. Saw GP at 5 weeks who said she'd tell the midwife. Had heard nothing after 2 weeks so found out their number and phoned directly. After leaving numerous answer phone messages spoke to someone who said they'd get me in for this Wednesday coming for booking appointment and to sort out scans.

I was then on holiday for 2 weeks so was advised to phone GP surgery today in order to confirm the time of Wednesday's appointment, and of course I don't have one. Midwife only does clinic at my doctors every other wednesday afternoon !!!??? so by the next one I'll be over 11 weeks. Then there'll probably be no scan slots for weeks after that. Can only get an answer phone to speak to at the midwife's number.

It's all quite irritated me. I had a miscarriage in December and desperately want to know this is real. Had heart set on scan before Easter so knew for certain before telling parents (we live 150 miles away and only see them 3 or 4 times a year and want to tell them face to face at Easter)

Sorry for going on I'm just irritated by being given run around!

Try getting onto tothe Supervisor of Midwives at your local hospital; follow it up with a letter and copy it into PALS and your practice manager.

I imagine they will find you a slot.
