Irrational worry or possible problem?

Hey

I am almost 11 weeks (with my first). Yesterday and today, I have had an "on/off" feeling of pressure or a weight at what feels like an internal point pretty low down, directly above my vagina (I know, I know,TMI!). There is no pain at all, just this feeling of pressure, and no bleeding etc.

I did have this exact same feeling in the first few days of the pg, around the time my period was due, and it was one of the reasons that, despite having all the usual pmt symptoms (sore boobs etc), I thought I just might be pg... and I was!

But is this feeling a problem now? Is it the first signs of an mc (i/e is it the pressure of the uterus getting ready to clear itself out), or have others had this? I am becoming slightly paranoid about turning up to my scan in a week's time and them saying the baby dies x many weeks ago... I hope/know this is not an uncommon worry though!

Any experience of this sensation (with positive or negative outcomes) is appreciated!

im pretty sure i had a feeling like this at some point during my pregnancy - and what i was told/read was that early on in the pregnancy things are shifting around and stretching to make space for baby....thats most probably what it is! if you arent in any pain, and there is no bleeding, then everything is probably hunky dory

Thanks, that helps. I am normally fairly rational and laid back. Pregnancy seems to have totally altered that aspect of my character! x

I go with curlimum. Don't worry. (Ridiculous thing to say, I know, as a fellow suddenly irrational and hyper person.)

But mad stuff goes on in your uterus at this point. Apparently your pelvic floor can drop by up to 5cms during pregnancy.

I'm 10 weeks 5 and have had a similar feeling on and off. I mentioned it to the midwife who put it down to the changes curlimum described. I've come to the conclusion that pregnancy is not good for your mental wellbeing!

I had some bleeding in my first trimester (everything was ok!) and when scanned explained this odd pressure feeling low down and the obs/gynae woman said that it's because my uterus had gone from the size of a tangerine to the size of a large grapefruit over the course of a few weeks and it was just putting pressure on things to move and adjust. It made perfect sense then.
