'Overdue' - Home birth plans at risk

Anyone else out there 'overdue' and planning a home birth? I'm 41 weeks and 2 days(Term+9)today and yesterday the midwife was really guilt tripping and scaremongering me about going over 14 days from my 'due date'. I have tried EVERY natural way of inducing labour (accupuncture, pineapple, long walks, raspberry leaf tea, hot curry, foot spa and massage, sex) but now fully believe that babies just come when they're ready and that the natural way of inducing labour only works if they baby was ready to come anyway. Midwife has said they wont be happy to deliver baby at home if I go over 14 days. Feel really fed up. Anyone found any useful sites that I can use to support my argument that this is normal and that induction isn't?!

Well it sounds like you have a few days reprieve... good luck & keep us posted.

Besides being monitored is different from being induced, and probably quite a reasonable suggestion at 40+14 (even if the 14 might be slightly less).

Little update - been to see my consultant this morning and he's happy to let nature take it's course. Going for a scan on Friday (Term+13) to check amniotic fluid and monitoring of heart rate, then back again on Monday (Term+16) for more monitoring and then seeing him again in clinic on Wednesday (Term+18) but no pressure to be induced at any stage unless there is a medical reason or request from me. All in all, very reassuring that he's so relaxed about it, top bloke!! His name is Mr Warwick at Russells Hall hospital, Dudley in case anyone in the area wants to know who the good guys are! Now, just the midwife to deal with!!

Will midwife still deliver you at home if its after the weekend? Good news that doctor laid back about it.

Best of luck, DD2 was term + 12days and I was booked in for an induction at term + 14 days.

I had a lovely homebirth with her all over in 2 1/2 hours.

Fingers crossed your LO makes an appearance in the next few days.

I have read the research regarding IOL so I chose to book for it at T+15. I went into labour myself at T+15, yay.

I also had acupuncture for IOL with both of them and laboured the next day. I left it so long the second time because I didn't want it to fail and make the first time a coincidence. With hind site wish I'd gone at T+3
