Hi ladies

sorry but this is a bit tmi!! I'm 27 weeks on Tuesday and I've just been for a poo. When I wiped there was fresh red blood from the front and also a little blood in the toilet. I had some spotting early on in my pregnancy in the same circumstances and I was told by the midwife that it could cervical erosion and not to worry about it. Baby is still very active just now, could this still be erosion even though I've had no spotting since about 12 weeks???

Thanks for reading

Could it be from your bottom? Anal fissures (tears) and haemarroids are very common in pregnancy and leave bright red, fresh blood when you wipe. This is more likely if you're constipated (and who isn't when they're pregnant) and/or taking iron supplements.

Can you check where it's coming from?

Thanks but it was definately from the front, I dabbed the front with loo roll and it was from there.

If it's from the front call your MW or GP. They'll check you over and make sure everything's ok.

i think you should go and get checked out asap.probably nothing but worth putting your mind at rest.go to hospital.

Thanks everyone, i'm going to give the midwife a ring in the morning, have just been for a wee and there was nothing this time so fingers crossed it's nothing to worry about. Thanks Madam, when I went for my scan I was told I had an anterior placenta but it wasn't low I don't think.

My sister had this all the way through her pregnancy and it was cervical erosion. I hope the midwife puts your mind at rest.
