Is it ok to eat stilton when pregnant if cooked in soup?

Yes they changed the recommendations in a 2015 review of what's safe to eat whilst pregnant (which I was delighted to read about in 'Mother and Baby' Jan issue). It said you can eat Stilton as it's a hard blue cheese, but avoid soft blue cheeses like Roquefort etc.

Yes stilton is fine, cooked or not it doesn't matter. Other blue veined cheeses only if cooked.

stilton has been ok to eat well before 2015. One of the pages I linked to was last reviewed in 2013 so must have existed before then

My midwife said as long as it's cooked that's fine!! Yippee baked camembert SmileSmile

I put Stilton on a rice cake and nuked it in the microwave till it was a steaming gungy mess. Best thing I have ever eaten (at 20 weeks)

French women don't eat soft cheeses in pregnancy - their restrictions are actually stricter than in UK
