You don't need a docs appointment, you can get the cream from the chemist.

MrsHappy · 04/03/2010 21:10

Um, well my MW had no objection to me using Canasten that I bought at the chemist. Just the cream, not the pessary.

HoopsIsGettingMassive · 04/03/2010 21:11

so there is hope, will get me and said foof to chemist in the morning....thanks ladies

sit on a thistle?

You can get the strong canestan over the counter. I've had thrush throughout my whole pregnancy (now 31 weeks) and used the pessary twice. This is the only thing that really takes it away. My doctor said it was fine. Just be careful with the applicator and don't push it in anywhere near as far as you would normally. The canestan cream will give you some light relief for the next week at least but unlikely to take it away. Good luck!

I had exactly the same problem and found that salt baths really helped (as a natural alternative..)...
