Hi there

This is nothing more than a moan really, so feel free to stop reading now!

I'm booked for an ELCS with DC2 in three weeks time, but at my mw appt last week, LO is still lying either transverse or at best breech. Was told by mw that if she it is still transverse in one week's time, I'll be admitted to hosp for monitoring as there is potential danger of cord prolapse if I go into labour.

Can't get my head around any of it. On the one hand I've got a definite end in sight which is the date of my ELCS, on the other hand I may have to spend a week or two in hospital if things don't change in the next seven days. Finding it hard to think positively!

Help!

So are you 37 weeks now?

I would have thought it's entirely possible that bubs may still move round for you. I have a feeling that there are things you can do to try and get baby to turn, too. Unfortunately I can't get at my book with the info (I lent it to a friend and haven't had it returned yet).

The only one I remember is the truly ludicrous and outlandish one which was that it apparently helps to play music or shine a light down there (or, even dottier, get DH to talk to him/her in the same place) since it might attract the baby down and get them to move! Like I say, ludicrous and outlandish. Might be worth it, though, if you want a fit of the giggles and cheering up!

Thanks AllieW

I've seen similar advice about shining lights/playing music/talking - worth a go I guess!

I'll be 37 weeks on Saturday and have next mw appt a week today when I'll be 37+3.

Think I need to try raising my pelvis above my upper body - seen an interesting thing on Spinning Babies website where you need to kneel on the sofa with your upper body resting on the floor below. Not one to try after a meal!

Just feel as though time for it to move is running out (she has been in the position the entire pg!). I'm not bothered about having to have a cs as I'm booked for that anyway, as I said, I just don't want to spend several days in hospital beforehand on the off chance that my waters might break!

Well, you never know. DD was in the perfect position all pregnancy and then decided to move so that she was back to back for labour. With a bit of luck your little one will decide on the opposite tack and make life simpler for you.

Wishing you lots of luck!
