Hi

Has anyone else had this?

I am a migraine sufferer in 'real life', usually find I get them around the time of ovulation. They are the classic, with aura type.

Now, I currently 36+2 with DC2 and haven't had a single migraine throughout this pg or indeed, throughout my first pg. Until last week, that is.

I have had at least one a day for the past few days, even waking me in the night.

I've got a gp appt this am to run it by him, just in case it's anything like preeclampsia, although saw mw last week and urine and bp both fine, no swelling, just these migraines.

The only link I can fiond is that I have been taking low dose aspirin until last weekend when I was advised to stop in time for the birth. I wonder if the two are related?

Any thoughts/advice gratefully received.

Maybe connected to the aspirin???
or hormonal. Would certainly go to GP as planned to check BP and urine again just to make sure nothing else is going on.

I had taken Generic for maxalt for migraine. It worked for me. You can find the details at www.internationaldrugmart.com/maxalt.html

I also have cyclical migraines and in PG1 had a major migraine the night before I went into labour, so I've always assumed a hormonal shift caused it.

Unlike you though, I had migraines throughout first trimester with both pgs. Lasting 3 days every 3 days at one stage.

I don't tend to take more than paracetemol these days because I find what I really need is to slow down and go to bed early to get properly over an attack. Maybe you should try to get some rest (easier said than done I know). I do hope they don't carry on for long.

Hi there

Saw GP on Monday and he was happy that it was nothing more than migraine - probably hormonal or stress related! Quite.

Strangely, haven't had any since then which is typical!

GP said that if they continue and I need to take more than paracetamol, then he could prescribe migraine medication as it would be ok to take at this stage (I'm nearly 37 wks), but I told him I would stick with paracetamol unless it got too much.

i have migraines and the only time i got any relief from them was when pregnant. but i did get one or two humdingers towards the end. i found one of those heatpads that you microwave round the neck/shoulders really helped - i think they were part caused by hormones but also i think partly started with tension in my neck/shoulders transferring up from my back once i reached the spacehopper stage .
the good news: the migraine-protective effect seemed to last beyond the pregnancy through bfeeding.
