Sorry to bombard the 'pregnancy' section, but are there any mws out there who can advise about transverse lie at 35+ weeks

Hi

Calling all mws or those with knowledge of transverse/oblique lie!

I posted elsewhere on here yesterday after seeing mw at 35+3 weeks.

LO has been in much same position (kind of diagonal across bump, with head at top right and feet pushing opposite at left hip area).

Yesterday, mw casually pointed out that if this hasn't changed by 37 weeks, they'll admit me to hospital to avoid danger of cord prolapse if my waters break early.

She then scheduled me to see her again in a fortnight when I'll be 37+3.

I'm panicking a bit in case waters go before this although I guess it's unlikely.

Any advice on how to deal with it?

Thanks

My dd was transverse but it wasn't picked up until 39 weeks. I was scheduled to have a section 4 days later. I asked what to do if my waters broke in the meantime. The advice was not to panic, kneel down with my bottom in the air and dial 999 so that I could get transferred to hospital for the cs. There was never any mention of being admitted early to hospital and they seemed pretty relaxed about it.

Is this your first baby? Would imagine the chances of your waters breaking in a gush before 37 weeks are slim

With my ds he was in a breech position until 36 weeks when he turned himself and ended up head down. Your baby might still turn himself

Thanks

That's reassuring.

It's my second child. Waters didn't break with DD1 til about 39+4.

I've just watched a video on Spinning Babies about doing an inversion off the sofa - I imagine this would be a good position to get into if my waters broke!

I'll try to chill out!

If its your second child I was told there was more room for the baby to move around until the last minute as your stomach muscles are that much looser. I was sure my ds would remain breech and that I'd be heading for my second csection but I actually felt him flip and then he remained head down for the rest of the pg.

Good luck. Hope your spinning babies dvd works.
