Feedback on Nursing Bras idea

Hi All,
I'm wanting some feedback on an idea which came to me last night, I'm a bit of a bargain hunter and hate spending a fortune on something when you don't have too!!!!
I was out shopping for nursing bra yesterday in Belfast and found it really difficult to get them in my size which is 36a, any that I did see looked like something my granny wore during the war! and it was £26
I've worked in the wardrobe department at the Grand Opera House Theatre so having a bit of a back round in amending clothes I thought i'll convert the lovely bras that I already own into a nursing bras for a fraction of the cost.

It was very successful and not overly difficult. In a flash of inspiration I thought what a good business idea.
If you have a selection of really nice bras, or you could buy some new regular bras send them to me and i will convert them into Nursing bras for you for a fee of about £7 each.

Big Question is would you use this service?

Any feedback much would be great.

Thanks

Sinead

Nice idea but a) my previous bras were underwired, which nursing bras aren't meant to be and b) I went from a 36B to something like a 38DD when I was breastfeeding - and I'm not sure I know anyone who didn't change sizes dramatically. I wouldn't use the service but hope I am not being a bucket of cold water to you.

You can buy the clips online for about £4 already, but you would need to be handy yourself to convert them I suppose.

My maternity/ feeding bra's were also difficult to find, but for the opposite reason to you. I was a 30G.

I potentially would use it. I think your price is low enough.

God, yes, I would use this. I had such trouble getting nursing bras in my (admittedly unusual) size when bfeeding DD. I know they are not meant to be underwired, but if properly fitted I don't think that would be too much of a problem. And you could always just take the wires out. I wore the same two nursing bras for over a year because it simply didn't seem worth spending more money on more bras that didn't fit.

£7 sounds like a very reasonable price. And if you set up this service, I want to know about it for next time!

nope, cause I did my own!

Sometimes it's a case of knowing where to look. With my keen eye for a bargain I've spotted there's some NCT branded nursing bras for sale from as little as £2.50! I think they are left over from the sale.

I went up a couple of cup sizes for a while but once milk production settled down I was back to my normal size and I hated nursing bra's because of the way they make your boobs look.

I managed to find one underwired bra which gave me a better shape. I agree with Horton if they fit properly I didn't see how they can cause a problem as the wire should be under the breast tissue anyway.

So yes I would use it and I'm sure there must be others in a similare situation. I wouldn't know where to start really, just don't have the time and wouldn't want to ruin the bra's I have by trying!

I think it's a good idea Sinead24 but unfortunatley my usual bras are too small and any nice new bras I'd consider buying are underwired. But some people might go for this if they dont change size.

Thanks ladies for all your feedback, it has really given me something to think about.

If I go ahead with my idea I will be sure to post it.
