I'm just a mess and I hate myself for being like this. I'm so nervous because I've had 4 mc's in a row (no dc). I'm 32 and healthy, have had all the tests, and nothing abnormal was found (of course).

Anyway, I started spotting at 6 weeks and I'm over 7 weeks now. It's been light brown spotting. Also, I've been having morning sickness, and not just in the morning...and I didn't have that with any of my previous 4. I'm hoping this is a good sign but the spotting is just making me crazy.

Any similar experiences?

Same here - am 7+1 with #3, and have had a couple of episodes of brown spotting. First one was a week ago - I panicked because of previous MC and was told by midwife to go to EPAC for scan. Did so and saw my little baby on the screen with a good strong heartbeat! So am now trying to be more zen about the latest spotting (today!) but tbh am struggling with it. Am still feeling sick, though (mornings and evenings, mostly), and boobs still sore...

Anyway, just wanted you to know you're not alone - really hope it all works out for you. We'll probably ahve the same due date if it works out for both of us!

Hi Daynee

Sorry for your losses.

I've had at least 2 weeks of spotting in this pregnancy and all is well so far (I'm 8+3). Last pregnancy was a mc. Can you get a scan? At just over 7 wks, if all is well the scan should show a heartbeat which would hopefully reassure you. Also they can see if the blood is coming from the uterus, and if it's not, then you can safely assume it's caused by something harmless like cervical erosion.

Sticky vibes, I hope it all works out

hi daynee, am hoping everything is OK. I have had 2 mc, but also 2 successful pregnancies- and had brown spotting with them both around 6/7 weeks. All was fine, Brown spotting means its old blood, so could be from the baby wriggling into your lining. When its fresh red blood thats more a cause for concern though could still be nothing at all to worry about.

Only thing that will reassure you is an early scan
x

i second bellas comment...im sure that its red blood that is cause for concern however still get this checked xx

I had spotting at 5, 7 & 9 weeks, bright red and I had cramps. I had scans every time so speak to your midwife about referal to EPU.

The result of the pregnancy, my four week old DD, is sat next to me .

Congrats and good luck xx

Thank you ladies. I'm really hoping that I'm just one of those women who spots during pregnancy. I didn't want to go in for a scan too early, since I've had 4 mc's, all of which I paid good money to see scans and heartbeats, only to be torn apart...So, I'm waiting until I reach 8 weeks this weekend, then I will call to get into my ob/gyn.

mog - Congrats, and I hope everything works out wonderfully for you. You're definitely in the same boat as me - And it's like every little twinge, I freak out, and the past few days, I haven't had a lot of morning sickness, so of course, I'm freaking about that too. I've heard that many women have off and on morning sickness so I hope that's all it is!

I'm almost 14 weeks pregnant and have had spotting (orange to brown to red) since about 4 weeks. I've had several scans and all has been ok. The midwife examined me and said that i have a cervical ectropian thing (excuse the spelling! - it used to be known as an erosion) and that was causing the bleeding. Definatly have a scan at your local early preg clinic/unit - get a referal letter from your midwife or gp as they might not see you without one. They shouldnt hesitate to give you a letter. Apparently it is very common for women to bleed in early pregnancy - something like 1 in 3 do, so it really doesnt mean the worse is going to happen.
It's a very normal reaction to feel paranoid about your pregnancy, i know i am terribly paranoid although i'm feeling a bit better, and it's no surprise if you've had miscarriages before.

weehector · 24/02/2010 00:47

I had bright red spotting at 7 weeks, 13 weeks & 15 weeks...I got a bit paranoid at 13 weeks as it coincided with my boobs starting feel less sore.

Scan at 12+5 showed a healthy baby and I heard my little baby's heartbeat yesterday at 17 weeks. The midwife reassured me not to worry as it was so common - and without pain there was no need for further tests as the heartbeat showed a healthy baby .

Kitkatqueen · 24/02/2010 00:54

Yep I too have had the spotting, cramping and in each of my 1st 3 pregnancies I had 1 incident of huge bloodloss. They never could explain why and everything turned out fine. hope all is well.

flintski · 24/02/2010 06:50

Hi - good to hear these replies to OP as I am 8+3 too and have had spotting on and off for the last 2 weeks.I didn't have it with dd. Both the midwife and doctor have played it down and although I was offered a scan, I turned it down as I was told I might not get my 12w dating scan (?) - I figure I just have to hang on in there and hope it is just erosion as some of you have said. I'm not surprised you are worried Daynee with your history but it does sound positive from other posts. Hope all goes well for you.
