Hiya hoping someone can help.

Yesterday I got a faint positive on a first response test and I got another faint positive this morning. I thought the line would have been darker this morning however it is not. Also since my positive result yesterday I have been having some mucus discharge when i wipe after toilet (sorry TMI) the mucus is coloured with a little red. As far as I can remember I didnt have this last time around when pg with DD. Can someone please advise me as I'm now worried that this isn't normal and now freaking out

re the test - you could get one of those digital tests - i was too strung out with the faint line and needed a definite yes or no.

re the mucus etc maybe you should see gp or ring nhs direct - i really don't know about that

Sounds prett normal to me. Blood could come from recent implantation.

I would think the colour of the line would be pretty variable one day to another myself.

I think it sounds like implantation bleeding hun, which is very normal.

Congratulations on your pregnancy

Perfectly normal, hun. The colour of the line means nothing, unfortunately. If it's there, it's there. And trickle of blood could be from implantation.

Strength of lines is bugger all to do with strength of pregnancy and everything to do with urine concentration, test limitations etc. But a line is a line is a line is a line is a line. Those test pick up hcg which- apart from in rare circumstances that are detailed in the test instructions- is only present during pregnancy.

The small amount of bleeding could be implantation, cervical erosion, hormonal levels meaning that your body still has a small breakthrough bleed at the time you would expect a period. It can be nothing of concern at all. It can also be a sign of something else and of course that is a sad fact. Threatened miscarriage, ectopic for example would usually involve bleeding. There is no way of knowing and little that can be done to determine either way at the moment assuming you're only just late other than waiting. If you feel pain or bright red blood or both together, particularly shoulder tip pain, then see a doctor. Otherwise time will tell.

I do hope it turns out okay and you have a healthy pregnancy. These early days are very difficult indeed.

The lines on my early pregnant tests were so faint that I went to a nurse to get one done, she said she 'couldn't see anything' and 'the line is too faint to be positive'
I stormed out and spent £10 on two digital tests, they both confirmed I was 2 weeks pregnant and I was.
