Too busty for Bravissimo! Help!

I know it's not a problem faced by everyone, and believe me, I have had people commenting that they're envious of my rather mahoosive boobs before now, but at 18wks, I've outgrown my 32J maternity bra, and I'm still on the tightest back setting! (Normally I'm a 30 back.)

Bravissmo only go up to J cup in their maternity bras, so where do I go now? I live in Kent and can't drive (so rely on public/parental transport), so does anyone know a good place to go and find a bigger bra? I don't like just mail ordering an unknown brand without having a fitting, because they all come up slightly differently, but obviously if things get that desperate that's what I'll have to do.

In my last pregnancy I ended up just not wearing a bra for most of it, and holding myself in with a high bump and vests. But that really didn't do me any good at all, and I certainly don't want to be that daft again - it took me a long time before I could get myself back in bras without it being agony. Plus, this time round I might be able to breastfeed (medical issues, don't ask! ) so I really will need a bra.

Right, enough rambling. Does anyone know of a good specialist I can go to/call?

rainbowdays, I think it is just a case of trial and error, and depends on the person as well as the particular bra style. Even in not-so-tiny back sizes (eg I am a 34GG) it's a perennial problem.

I found one that worked as you describe for me a few years ago from Freya, and bought several nothing they've made since has worked quite as perfectly for me although I still have worn their more recent styles. And I recently did an ebay search for that old style and found a "new with tags" one in my size was like Christmas

Am now pg and wearing those bras every day -- not sure what I'll do when BF, but managed ok with an Anita underwired feeding bra last time. No problems with milk or pain or anything. I'm just not sure how high they go up in the cup, can't recall my size from those BF days.

sorry rainbowdays, I didn't realize that you were looking for HH and above. But CleverCircusFlea is right that u/w is not actually off limits during pg and BF if you can get the fit right. It's just that most people don't!

CleverFlea - thank you for the website link, I will look at it later, could be just what I need. I am currently in early pregnancy, but due to not losing the weight from the last pregnancy (and overeating while breastfeeding ), I am not so small around at the moment, so only a 36K (well probrably should be wearing a 34, but have been lax in recent bra hunting). So if start gaining in boob-age again, it could be an interesting hunt for a larger cup size for me!

Rainbow - the Royce nursing bra is at the bottom of the page, the third bra on the page. It isn't underwired as far as I can see.

Heh, thanks all; I didn't expect this much of a responsre, I must say. It seems to be one of the perennial issues I have which smaller-busted women just don't understand. I get a lot of comments on how people would love boobs like mine, and how lucky I am to have an hourglass-esque figure (except for a bumbag podge at the front!), but there's less realisation of the fact that it also means finding any bra is often a struggle, let alone an attractive or, dare I suggest it, even a sexy one. Matching lingerie is a luxury I can rarely afford.

The John LEwis suggestion is one I didn't know about, so I'll definitely check that out - it's also good to know that not all of the NCT bras are the irritating S,M,L,+L etc, which is what I saw on the first few I looked at!

It seems ridiculous in a way; I'm clearly not that much of a minority in having 30HH boobs pre-pregnancy, so why does no one make bras to fit?

Also, on an unrelated note, why do maternity bras come only in white in the larger sizes, while the black option stops several cups down? Bigger boobs does not mean I only wear white; in fact, quite the opposite. I wear black most of the time so my boobs aren't obvious enough for every lorry driver to honk his horn at me as I walk down the road (which is a really degrading experience - it's not like I particularly wanted massive boobs. I really envy my sister for being a C.

If anyone is in South London I would totally recommend going to the Fitting Studio She specialises in larger cup sizes. May be worth calling ahead to see what Maternity and Nursing bras she's got as that's not her focus.

Just to counter some of the comments, I am normally a 38G and I didn't change at all when pg. I kept expecting to wake up each morning to two polaris missiles but it never happened. They sort of expanded inside themselves IYSWIM So it's not a given that you'll explode boob-wise. Hope you find some answers though. I'm planning on dc2 this year and I might not be so lucky next time!

I use the royce nursing bra in an L cup and find it fits OK. Normally a HH when not bf/pg
