Hi all

Any one else due in April??
I have just over 8 weeks to go, leave work in 3 weeks and can't wait, feeling exhausted now!

Had one of those 4d scans done 2 weeks ago, anyone else had one? They are fab! Well worth the money for your first.

Just celebrating the 10th anniversary of my PFB, and I'd love to be in your shoes right now and do it all again! Enjoy your maternity leave, get some fresh air, go to the cinema and enjoy being spontanious. Spend some lovely afternoons with a cup of tea resting on your bump watching telly and relax(you won't believe me but you'll miss that bump!). You are about to start the most exciting and challenging times of your life and it is brilliant

Cngratulations Mumtobe, I gave birth to first child in September last year. It was the most fantastic and amazing day of my life, DD is the most precious thing ever (sat here breatfeeding her). Make sure you enjoy every minute of your leave before baby arrives, relax and have some lovely long lunches.
Good luck

Congrats my April baby from last year is now 9 1/2 months old - not long til his first birthday and can't believe how quickly it has all gone. He's my first as well. It is the best thing you can ever do. Bloody knackering don't get me wrong, but I would rather be a mummy now than anything else in the world. Enjoy the last few babyfree weeks - if I had those weeks again I would have gone out for dinner with DH a lot more and spent more quality time with him... the first few months of DS's life we felt more like a tag team than a couple . One thing I wish someone had told me before DS arrived is that the first six weeks are really hard but then it starts falling into place and gets easier... promise. x

Hello!

I'm due 11th April with my second. It is amazing and you'll realise this more and more as you get to know your baby and watch them grow and learn. I never appreciated "the miracle of life" until I had mine. People don't talk much about how incredible it all is, they tend to focus on the negatives. Once things settle down you'll feel like it's one of life's biggest secrets!

However it is, like the others have mentioned, a big challenge and you will feel more tired than you ever thought possible but you will get over the initial stages and any further difficulties you encounter. Just keep in mind that it does get easier and in a blink of an eye your baby will be a rampaging toddler learning to walk and talk!

Still, I'm well nervous about my second one .. due about 4 days after my son's second birthday!

I second what Bicnod says, for the first 6 weeks I didn't have a clue, looked everything up in a book. As soon as I realised that I was her Mum and being a mum is a natural thing I just went with what I felt comfortable with ans everything fell into place. We found our own routine, which isn't really a rountine but we are both happy. DD has slept through the night from 10 weeks and is very contented.

Just to add another positive after reading Meeshamie's post - I didn't know such love existed in the world until I had DS. I love DH, I love my family and my friends, but the love I have for DS blows my mind on a daily basis. That is what makes the sleepless nights etc possible - because you love that tiny bundle more than you could ever have imagined. Best thing ever x10000000.

I'm possibly having my 3rd April baby (DS1 was the 1st April, DS2 was 11th April, and number 4 baby is due on the 30th - so may just squeak into May!).....

Enjoy your maternity leave - and indulge yourself totally - it's the last time you get to be completely 'selfish'!! It's such a brilliant time before your first - and having a baby in April is a wonderful time of year because the weather tends to mean that you can be out and about in the spring sunshine with your new bundle and enjoying the fresh air.

Best of luck with it all - you will be bombarded with advice when your first one arrives, but I think the best advice that I was given was enjoy your new baby, and trust your instincts above everyone else. You know your baby best!
