I'm still kind of new to MN but today I was told by my doctor I'm about 10 weeks gone and due around the 6th of September.
I didn't even plan to have anymore because I had my DD just 2weeks before my 18th, who is now 3.
Still haven't told anyone, not even DP, but just wanted to see how it felt telling people without expecting disappointment.

I'm kind of excited now

congratu-bloody-lations!

lovely.

5inthebed · 08/02/2010 21:09

Congratulations

Why would you be a disappointment? Tell your DP.

LittlePeanut · 08/02/2010 21:11

How wonderful! - a little brother or sister for your DD! Congratulations xxx

Bumperlicious · 08/02/2010 21:13

Great news! How could you have gotten to 10 weeks without knowing?!

StephysFamous · 08/02/2010 21:14

5inthebed - I was quite unclear there, I didn't mean disappointment from him. I will tell him later on when he comes in from work, don't want to tell him in a text. There was a lot of disappointment when I fell pregnant with first as I was quite young, now I'm married with my own home so think family will be fairly pleased.

Thank you all

Bumperlicious - I have no clue, no sickness or tenderness and been so busy at work I honestly didn't even notice my period had done a bolt. It was only when my sister stayed on Fri and asked if I had some tampons for her I thought "Hang on a minute...."

Congratulations, I'm so jealous! I'm also at the other end of the scale; 38 and time is running out. Am too fat really to be thinking about getting pg but the lack of time is against me so I'm going to do it anyway. But would love to be young and sprightly and pg instead of old, wrinkly and knackered and pg

Congratulations! Come and join us on the Due in September thread in the antenatal clubs! (I'm due 2nd september) x

Congratulations! Your dd is going to LOVE having a brother or a sister. You won't disappoint anyone, everyone used to have their kids at your age, it's only now people are having them later. At least you have the energy and enthusiasm to run after them!

And if you do have anyone act "disappointed" about your news, well sod 'em they'll get over it. It's your life not theirs.

sparkleshine · 09/02/2010 12:09

congratulations xxx

Were u trying to get pg?

Its a nice age gap as well and im sure your dd will love helping her mummy with her new baby brother or sister.

StephysFamous · 09/02/2010 12:20

Thank you all very mucho

I can't imagine being an older mummy, of course there is nothing wrong with it but I probably couldn't be bothered. You are all saints to be doing it!

Told DP last night, he's very excited but have decided not to tell DD just yet, still way too early.

sparkleshine No, we weren't trying but things happen.

Congratulations!!!

I feel the same way sometimes, I'm 22 and pregnant with my first, and I know my Dad is a little disappointed and he said himself at Christmas after one too many whiskeys he wasn't overjoyed which really hurt. But I'm settled, have an amazing OH and a 3 bedroom house (and 2 cats!) and more importantly feel ready and so happy so who cares? He will soon get over it, and you sound more ready than some 35 year olds! Good luck xx

mice · 09/02/2010 12:23

Congratulations!!!!

StephysFamous · 09/02/2010 12:34

I'm also 22 and 26weeks pregnant with my first. I'm married and have our own home but my dad still gave me "the look" when I told him! Dads will never ever like to think that their daughters are at it! How ever old!

Oops sorry for double post!

Bicnod · 09/02/2010 13:16

Congratulations fantastic news. My baby sister had her DD when she was just about 20 and her DS when she was 22. She's definitely one of the best mummies I know - very chilled out and loads of energy for her LOs. Have you told your family yet? x

lola0109 · 09/02/2010 14:33

I think the secret when telling people is that you act excited when telling them, when my sis told parents she was pregnant second time she was really nervous although she was 26 and the reaction wasn't the best. I then told my parents 6 weeks later that I was expecting no 1. I was 27 and had been trying for over a year but hadn't told anyone.

Anyway, I was SOOO excited, so went in jumping up and down and screaming! the reaction was totally different. So much so that my parents felt they had to apologise to my sister.

So, go in with a huge smile on your face and let them know how pleased you are and that should hopefully rub off on them.

(ps both my sister and I were in long term relationships, had jobs, own homes etc, so was really silly to feel nervous and my mum had her 1st at 17 and her 5th at 27, so in no place to judge )

Congratulations! x

Yeah some people give weird reactions on hearing about you being pregnant, tehre was a big thread on it recently. My dad was ok when I first told him about ds, but then when I went overdue and moaned about it he preached on about "the consequences of your actions" - I was like piss off I'm 25, not 14!
