Try either an ice-cold drink or a warm drink and lie down for an hour or so and see if babe starts moving about, that's what I do and it works everytime, she doesn't like me to rest! Hahaha..

If you're worried, which you sound like you are, then definately give your midwife a call - they'll prob ask you to go into the assessment unit and have a listen to see what's up. As you say, it could just be the way babe is lying but better to be safe than sorry hun!

if you are concerned you should contact your midwife.
i mentioned something similar to my mw last time, and she was really good about it, sent me off for monitoring. everything was fine.
you will not be bothering her.

I had this the other day and am 26weeks. Got myself into a panic because I hadn't felt her for a while despite cold drinks etc so called MW. She palpated my stomach quite forcefully (but not painfully) which woke baby up with a start! Give your MW a call even to put your mind at rest, that's what she's there for

i know how worrying it is. have you tried a really good poke in the side of your bump, worked for me. or a can of coke, the severe bubbles get it moving apparently or so i've been told by those who have tried it. i didnt know about it at the time, but now i am pg again with second child, i will keep it in mind as it seems to happen to everyone. also, the books suggest having a really calm, relaxed few hours and count every twinge and movement in that time. i think there should be 12 movements in 24 hours (i recall this, do your own research to be certain). you are right that the baby does not have much room at this stage, but you are probably just too busy to feel the movements. i feel very few during the day, but lots at night and in the evening when i sit down and eat.
good luck seeing the midwife, that is what they are there for, go for it.
