What new stuff do I need to buy for DD2? Teats, mattress ... ?

DD1 will be 19m when DD2 arrives. I guess I should buy new teats. What about bottles? DD1's are quite well-used.

We're borrowing a moses basket so I suppose I should buy a new mattress for that? Do I also need to buy a new cot mattress when DD2 moves into DD1's cot? What's the current advice on this?

Also on our list: extra chest of drawers etc to keep all DD2's stuff in; little nappies (aww) ... um, anything else??

ikwym HM thats the only thing i dont like not being able to have a go as such. Especially the fact that the compact strollers are only on line.

Wow, thanks for the thoughts everyone. I've done the old MS/E3 debate to death on MN and having test-driven MarsLady's MS, I'm sold. (Have also stopped various E3 owners in the park and altho they're all in love with theirs, I'm not convinced.) Will use sling and stroller for first couple of months.

So not much to add to my list then, which is a relief. Mars, you're a star as always I have a bottle of organic olive oil here for you, dont let me forget!

I'll have 18 month gap I'll be buying...

Maybe an E3 really like them misdee has almost convinced me.
bedside cot (am trying to convince myself DB will not be in bed with me)
new teats for bottles (for EBM)
baby swing (to put baby in whilst running after DD)
if boy new clothes, if another girl will try and recycle as much of DD's as possible although it was a different season DD was so small she was still in 0-3 months at 5 months
will buy DB a special teddy just for him/her

Jess...a word for the E3...
The baby doesn't see the underside of the seat. They look up straight into mummy's adoring face. Also the rocking and lovley swaddling sensation calms them amazingly. My ds was incredibly happy in his and I felt it was far more 'loving' than being all alone in a standard pram.
I really really love mine.

MD, dammit! Have been convincing myself I don't need an E3! Nearly managed it too...

You know I wouldn't lie to you whimsy!!
(And as you know,am very suspicious of 'kiddie' paraphernalia, but hot damn, that E3 is good, baby!!)

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 12/07/2005 15:59

still dont liek the look fo them tho!!! Dont like 3 wheelers at all tbh! just something about "techno" buggies as i call them, dont appeal! If i could have an old fashioned silver cross with toddler seat on the top i would!

That's ok jessmother!
(Neither did I until I got one!)
