Title says it all. Am 18 weeks. Got a real shock and tbh this isn't the first time. It's difficult when you have wriggly toddlers/preschoolers and prg.

Muscles around bump feel a bit sore now but not terrible. Heard HB on doppler.

What should I do? Anything?

I tripped over flat onto my tummy when I was about 6 months pregnant onto a wooden floor. I went to hospital and they listened in to check baby's movements but seemed pretty unconcerned as long as I could feel movements. They said the babies are pretty well protected. I guess they have to be - most toddlers give you a boot in the tummy at some point during the second pregnancy.

Thanks. Rang hosp advice line but they were not that helpful really. May try and get a MW appt tomorrow as not due to see one for a month and next scan not for 2 weeks.

I guess they are pretty well protected but not so much as bump gets bigger. Feel slightly crampy but sometimes do anyway. Think am getting paranoid.

At 18 weeks the baby is still pretty small so is well surrounded by fluid, not to mention the uterus and your stomach muscles. I know how easy it is to worry though; my cat jumped on me at about 16w and I spent probably a week worrying about it! Actually I may have posted about it on here.. If it's going to really bother you though, there's no harm in seeing MW for reassurance.

Thanks. Will ring hosp this am. Touchwood all OK. Have heard HB but because movements only just started and light, can't feel them much anyway - if I could feel jumping around would probably not bother.

DS is 2 and regularly leaps onto my 17 week belly - I'm doing my best to discourage it but as soon as I get down onto the floor to play he leaps over for a hug.

I'm being mean mummy as I'm refusing to pick him up unless it's really necessary so I can't stop getting on the floor too!

I think it's pretty well protected in there so not worrying too much.

I haven't broken the news to DD yet that there is a baby in there so she will probably be a bit more gentle when she knows. Am hoping so anyway!

I know what you mean about picking up. DD is really heavy and can't pick her up at the best of times so feel bad having to refuse.
