Hi everyone,
im 31 weeks and my little one is constantly moving especially around 3/4 in the morning. sometimes it feels like two hands together other times two feet. Is constant and frequent movement normal at this stage??? as i read that at this stage there shouldn't be much room for him to move around... but in my case he's moving around much more than in previous weeks. Also I havn't been going to the toilet half as much as I did in the early stages. Is all this normal?

Well, I felt pretty much constant movement with DS at your stage of preg and beyond - less with current pregnancy (28 weeks with DD) but still enough to be reassuring. (And BTW lots of fetal movement is generally classed as reassuring, just to reassure you )

I think it all depends on the size of the baby/uterine space/amniotic fluid levels - in other words it's all idiosyncratic and I have learnt (in second preg!) to take all those 'you should be feeling X at Y stage' with a grain of salt There really is huge variability! If you're really worried, make a note to ask MW at next check...

Hope this helps and congrats on your pregnancy!

Hi, I'm 32 weeks and still getting lots of movement - some of it very strong. The midwives told me movement is good and to come into maternity if it stops or reduces, so I'd say it was usually a good sign. Of course, it's not always conducive to good sleep, but I've kind of given up on that.

I had a similar experience and spoke to MW about it as I'd convinced myself that baby must be in distress or something...

MW basically said that all movement is a good sign and wriggly babies tend to be healthy babies so not to worry. She also said to familiarise myself with patterns of movement and give them a ring if it tailed off suddenly. Hope that helps. try not to worry

Good to hear this is pretty normal - mine has been such a fidget these past couple of weeks - I'd been beginning to worry I had a troublemaker on my hands!
