SPD @ 14 weeks anyone?

Hi all!

As you may guess from title I'm 14 weeks preggers with dc3 and my pelvis feels like it's falling to pieces. I'm pretty sure this is SPD as it feels the same as when I was pg with ds (2nd pg), didn't have it at all with dd (1st pg.

I also have sciatica in my left leg which sometimes leave me unable to move my left leg.

Any ideas how to combat this? I have a belt but at the moment it isn't doing anything to alleviate the discomfort. And I know it's likey to get worse the bigger my bump gets.

Any advice appreciated

can you make it to see the physiotherapist near you? as i had "loose pelvis joint" (i felt like someone was stabbing me in my bum cheek) and was in tears at 4 months pg as i carried on for a whole month till i went to my excellent physiotherapist who i only saw twice and also she gave me exercises to do at home which i very quickly recovered. If you asked to be referred via midwife then you'll have to wait to see a hospital physiotherapist.

Thanks Biglips I was gonna mention it to my midwife when I see her again in a week or so - it was her who referred me last time and it was dead quick (literally a few days).

Think I can wait that long.

I might be able to later but I'm at work at the minute (which doesn't bloody help things). I work in a call centre and for some reason sitting for a long while seems to aggravate it.

I'm hoping there'll be a way to ease it so when it does start getting worse it will be easier to manage.

yes thats the worse thing is to sit at a long period as you need to move often. like going to the toilet more. i used to work in a call centre years ago and i know how it works and yes its a pain too.

My place of work is worse than school! It honestly is.

If you need a wee you have to get permission first. I'm a bit of a rebel and go anyway tho, in my opinion it's a human right to be able to pee when you need to - not when call volumes allow me to.

Sorry - gets me a bit worked up. My employer is shocking, and the maternity package is crap too!!!!
