Any recommendations for an early ultrasound in London?

I'm (very) newly pregnant and worrying myself sick so I thought I might book in for an early scan at about 8 weeks just to check that everything is progressing as it should.
Does anyone have any experiences of places in London?
Its quite a lot of money for me, and so is going to be a one-off and I would like to go somewhere nice, where the doctors are friendly.
Thanks!

Baby Premier which is on Harley street. We paid for a private scan at 8 weeks as I'd had a previous MMC.They were very good.If you google them it'll come up.About 90 quid I think.

I was the same and it really did reassure. I went to the womens ultrasound centre on harley st who were very kind and patient. The FMC is also good and who i have my scans with now as that is where the hospital send me. On balance though I think WU is slightly better if you are anxious.

St Thomas' & St Georges have EPUs were you can self refer and get a reassurance scan for free

epus

Fetal Medicine Centre is excellent as is UDS (Ultrasound Diagnostic Services).

Both are on Harley Street.

Here are their respective websites:

www.uds.uk.com/

Best of luck...

Thank you! Lots to look at!
The first place I googled last night was £150, so £90 is sounding much better.

It is worth asking pushing GP for an NHS referal - they might agree and then you wouldn't have to pay.

I've been to the FMC on Harley St and both St Thomas's and Queen Elizabeth's EPU.

You should be able to get a ref to an EPU via your NHS Dr or in my case I got one from the GP practice midwife. I have to confess I played up my "symptoms" slightly (cramps, loss of pregnancy symptoms) and the midwife wrote me a letter saying that i was "very anxious".

You should be able to save yourself the money, the NHS EPU staff are generally great. I would have to say that next time (fingers crossed) i would rather spend the money on an extra scan later in pregnancy.

you don't need a referral for the NHS EPUs
they have a show up and wait service

At my local hospital you have to be referred by your GP.Even though I'd had a MMC previously I was not allowed a scan at the EPU just cos I was anxious this time round.I didn't want to say I'd been spotting or anything for tempting fate.Having the scan did reassure me and it was worth it.
