For my second pregnancy it was...you will bleed out and die.

For this year third pregnancy it is....you will have a rupture and a big baby and die.

Well at least we won't be bleeding to death this year or is that part of a rupture ?

Onwards and upwards.

Offical permission for midwife led unit and homebirth refused. I have asked them to add to my notes that I have heard their objects and will be continuing to plan my homebirth unless my pregnancy deems otherwise. I will remain positive.

wow when is this third baby due?? congratulations sorry you're getting the same runaround as last time though. can you change mw area/team? re vbac scar rupture - read up on the risks and then decide for yourself - you're the one who has to live with it either way so it's better to get really well informed rather then relying on the obs/gys perspective, they will weigh risk differently from you for a start. (this is morocco btw( (i had a hbac mostly labouring in water not sure if you remember?)

thisisyesterday Nice midwife

sanfairyann, I remember, you were the FIRST home vbac around here

I suppose having got the run around last time, it is not surprising I get it again. I have a very thick file at the hospital now, including complaint letters etc.

TBH I have been asked to give this team a try, if encounter problems, I will go back to the very nice SOM.

I did mention that the risk is very low of a rupture happening and was informed that they have 8 minutes to complete a CS else we both die. Scary stuff.

Like everything in life, if it happens it affects me 100% and if it doesn't than it is 0%.

That said I am still not convinced that the hospital think I am high risk really, or else they would of offered the mid wife led unit, as they didn't they are telling me I am safe to be home. I reckon.

lovely - a summer baby

ml unit is only for low risk week day births and afaik that's it - not like in other places where you get to blag a place there by threatening to give birth under a tree in your back garden by yourself if they won't let you (i paraphrase ). but maybe they have relaxed the criteria now - certainly worth a try. can you go to another area for mw led unit instead?

(you should come and visit the guinea pigs!)

To be fair, I am happy to be home. Would rather have a midwife mind...no trees here, LOL

Love to come and see you piggies, I'll give you a call or might see you Friday at the BBB meeting.

I'd love to have a homebirth or even to have it in the local birthing unit but am afraid of what might happen if something goes wrong. I will be a couple of weeks off forty, first birth, nearest obstatrician is two hours away and the nearest SPBU 5 hrs away. Even the chopper would take an hour to get to me...I just feel that I can't take that risk. Feel a bit cowardly about not doing what I want and instead opting for the "safe" option - and afraid that because I will be in hospital they will make me go faster than I want and that I will end up with nasty cutting.
