Flying During Pregancy?

Has anyone flown during their pregancy, specifically later on?

My best friend is having a hen weekend in Benidorm in June and I will be 31 weeks pregnant at the time with DC4. I really want to go and feel I could cope with the partying despite being pregnant, but I am not sure about the lfying?

I understand I will need a doctors letter saying I am able to fly, and it's only for a few days away. Am I mad?!

Have you checked the airline's own policy? - I think it varies from company to company. I flew to the States at 27 weeks without any problems. It's only short-haul for you, so you should be fine. Drink plenty of water, get up and move around etc.

It depends on the airline's policy - check on their website. I just flew with Ryanair last week (at 29 weeks). They state that you have to have a medical certificate to fly past 28 weeks, and won't accept you after 36 weeks at all. I got the certificate, but no one asked to see it - I have quite a bump, but it gets well hidden by my winter coat I think... My doctor was happy for me to fly as long as it was under 3 hours of flight time.

I flew to France at Xmas, at 35 weeks, coming back on the last day of my 36th week, in line with BA policy (they won't let you fly later) Other airlines set the date earlier. Had to have a letter from GP which was checked rigorously at airport. And took notes obviously.
Mine was and hour and a half flight, and just about manageable. If it was a long flight I wouldn't want to do it,as it would be uncomfortable (and i couldn't get the seat back tray down! )

People might think you are mad but if you feel like it and your airline lets you fly...go for it. xxx

I flew back to Italy to give birth at 36 weeks.
Most airlines want a letter (Lyingair did) from your Gp to say you are fit to fly. I think it is about 35 weeks that they start asking for letters.
