Morning all. Am sure this might have been done before, but was wondering what are the essentials to have ready before newborn comes home? Have done this before but thought a checklist would be useful in case I in my fuzzy state have forgotten something obvious! Thanks.

My DS is almost 2 and the item that we've got most use out of was a decent changing table. I found changing him on the floor or the bed really hard on the back but the changing table was a perfect height - so no straining. It's also the perfect place to store all the bits and pieces needed for changing.

kellze · 17/01/2010 12:09

Apart from the obvious, food clothes nappies etc, I have insisted that this time we have a changing table too. After stitches and general soreness {excruciating pain} I couldn't bend down to change my ds on the floor and was in tears every time cos I was a bad mum.

fairydusty · 17/01/2010 13:44

I agree about the changing table - i had an em section with last baby and mum went out and bought me a changing table so i didn't need to bend - it also had a bath in it as well which was great if dh was there to fill it up but not so handy on my own. You also get the ones that go over the cot.
