Sainsburys sleepsuits - any good?

Hi - are they good quality? They feel nice but can anyone tell me if they wash well? I like that they have built-in scratch mitts (and are a third off in store this week!) but will they last?

Have already bought some John Lewis ones - do you think they are better?

Thanks

I found that Sainsbury's and Tescos sleepsuits both lasted more than long enough for the baby to outgrow them.

heth1980 · 14/01/2010 19:20

yes - I've found supermarket branded baby clothes to be just as long-wearing as any other brand.

butterscotch · 14/01/2010 19:58

Yes they are tumble drierable as well matalan vests and baby grows aren't tumble drierable!

I like next ones with the intergrated scratch mittens they lasted the longest for my DD!

But now sainsburys are doing them with the scratch mittens as well I might go and get some more

greensnail · 14/01/2010 20:00

Yes sainsbury ones are lovely and wash really well. I find the sizes come up a bit small though so you might want to take that into account when you're buying.

pigleychez · 14/01/2010 20:02

Yeah, They have been fine for us with DD. Still in good condition for DC2 to wear when it arrives in May.

BertieBotts · 14/01/2010 20:25

Yes Sainsbury's ones are fine, and I liked that they are quite often in nice bright colours rather than endless pastels

I didn't find the sizes small other than that they are smaller than mothercare ones (Our mothercare is next to sainsbury's so I always end up buying sleepsuits from both at once) - but I think it's the mothercare ones coming up big.

i like sainsburys clothes too!

(and i say this as someone who also buys a lot of mini boden, gap and stuff from JL!)

peachygirl · 14/01/2010 20:32

Yes they are great, but I must have tiny babies as DD2 is now 19 weeks and is still in the newborn ones. Tesco ones are good too

I bought John lewis ones last ime too and they also lasted us a long time with DD1.

All have washed well

pigleychez · 14/01/2010 20:56

Yeah they do come up big. DD's 0-3 mth ones lasted for ages!!

scotlass · 14/01/2010 20:57

I have bought sleepsuits from both and also agree they are both good quality.

I find the John lewis ones come in a bit smaller in size and my DS alwaus seems to grow out of his age group ones first.

I have to admit though I do find the Next ones the best for quality and washing well.

nappyaddict · 14/01/2010 20:59

John Lewis, Next, Sainsbury's and Tesco all do the baby grows with built in scratch mitts and they are all good quality.

choufleur · 14/01/2010 21:00

yes absolutely fine, particularly considering how many changes of clothes they go through in a day.

they grow so quickly they are not in them for long really.

dinkystinky · 14/01/2010 21:02

They're fine - wash well and dry pretty quickly.

mrsjuan · 14/01/2010 21:04

Next are good quality but I found them too thick for my summer baby and their feet didn't stretch enough.

Sainsburys are perfectly good and have lasted and washed well.

I liked Boots too - especially good for slim babies.

BikeRunSnowflake · 14/01/2010 21:13

Yes, fine. I got got some hand-me-down ones when DS was born, so they has already been well used. They lasted until he grew out of them, and are now waiting to be handed down to another baby.

arolf · 14/01/2010 21:16

they have been fine for us, but seem to be small sizes - my DS was out of the 0-3 month ones by 7 weeks (he was a 9lb baby), and is out of the 3-6 months ones now at 16 weeks. But he is filling his 3-6 month JL babygros too! mothercare ones have been the best fit for his age, but sainsburys ones best value for money! they wash well too.
