Any hope? Bleeding, uncomfortable feeling and mucus at 9.5 weeks

My symptoms disappeared last week and now I have cramping/period discomfort, red spotting and a lot of mucus.
I called my midwife (who I still haven?t met) and she?s got me in for a scan Thursday morning?

Is there any hope?

Well obviously that is quite worrying and it is good that you having a scan. However if it helps, I had a small amount of bleeding around the same time as you and I am now 15 weeks pregnant with no further trace of bleeding. They could not find any reason for my bleeding and said that it can be common. I hope it is good news for you.

Scruffers - did you also have some light cramping?

In my first pg, I had a short bout of mild cramping, red spotting and even a little clot passed. In my scan a day later all was well--ob could see "missing part" of the lining but baby was fine and he said it was a threatened miscarriage. Not sure why it happens. Perfectly healthy DS in the end.

Oh vitapulchra thank you! Even if it turns out to be the worst I now have a little hope to get through to my scan on Thursday...

Thank you

Nothing helpful to add, but fingers crossed for you x

Thanks for the good wishes but I'm pretty sure it's a no-go no. Excruciating contraction-like pains and lots of blood.

Ah well - I can drink all the red wine I was given for christmas now!

Don't know if anyone will read this but been up all night with the pains - really very bad, and am passing fist sized clots. Should I ring the doctor/go to A&E or something?
Last time this happened I lost more than half my blood but it hasn't got quite that bad this time - but I don't know what the cut off is....

If it hasn't stopped or slowed by lunchtime, I'd go to a&e.

I have no experience of this, but passing fist sized clots would prompt me to call NHS Direct or go to A&E, I think. I'm so sorry to read that this is happening, and didn't want to pass on without replying to you.

Underneath the stream - go to A&E

I'm sorry this is happening to you. Be kind to yourself.

Feeling a little weird with it so will see if DP can get morning off work and get me there...
