I had a difficult birth first time round which ended in a EMCS. I too was worried about a second birth/ section and wanted to book myself in for one. My local hospital was insistant that I tried for a VBAC even though I didn't want one. As it transpired, I had a 3 hr labour (from start to finish) and a VBAC with my second. I was home 12 hrs later and recovered really, really well.

I would recommend at least trying as it made life much, much easier all round. It also laid some ghosts to rest re the first experience for me.

Good luck TTC xx

thank you thats really nice, i had post natal depression after ds. had troubles feeding him too so i had a big issue thinking i was a rubbish excuse for a woman as i couldnt bring my baby into the world and i couldnt even feed him, really dont want those skeletons to come out of the closet. although scared of doing it all over again i do want to give natural birth ago.

my ds was pretty big although only 8.13 i am only 4ft 11, so neither of us did anything wrong he just got stuck. i wont know if im in that situation again until after pretty much all of the labour. will give it a go, just really really terrified

Pinchme - do a search on VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean) on mnet and tons of useful threads will come up.

I ended up having an elec cs with DS and it was a wonderful experience. Had no problems with recovery or bonding or breastfeeding. I have opted to elec cs this time too over VBAC. All I am saying is whichever method of delivery you choose with your next one - VBAC or csection, it can be a lot more of a positive experience. Good luck TTC!

I have only had natural births - however a number of my friends who had c sections the first time went on to have elective sections the second time. They said they were great experiences - much calmer, more organised, easier to recover from.

I'm not saying go immediately for the section but think about what is best for you all at the time. A c section is not something to be ashamed of - but the best way of getting your baby out for you at that time.
