Is this normal or should I worry?

Currently 10 weeks pg with second baby, and over the last few days have been getting what feel like Braxton Hicks in the afternoons/evenings. Not painful, just distinctly tight and tense feeling.

Is that normal/possible so early on? Or is it something I need to get checked out?

Hi.
Didn't want to see this unanswered, I remember getting imilar things with my 1st, but I would say that any concerns should be discussed with your m/w.
I'm sure it is all perfectly normal.

Again I would say ring your midwife if you are worried. Saying this I swear I felt something similar today - a tight feeling, not unlike a braxton hicks and I am only 7.5 weeks. Surely that must be too early although its my third so who knows.

I wouldn't worry too much. I had them very early with this pregnancy and my midwife said that it's because it's your second and they're more common, as well as the fact that you've already experienced them and know what they feel like.

hope that helps.

It is quite early to be aware of braxton hicks, but probably nothing to worry about. Keep well hydrated as dehydration can bring them on.

ive been getting them for the past few weeks on and off, im now 17 weeks. they havent hurt, just felt tight.

i wouldnt worry too much. i think mine are becsuse its my third and everything is weaker now.

if you have pain or are concerned please do contact your midwife.

congratulations on your pregnancy

I remember being very aware of those type of tightenings very early on. Doesn't in itself mean anything is wrong .

Have a chat to your midwife anyway to put your mind at rest- I remember during my first pregnancy, and I could feel my womb go hard, about 14 weeks I think/ Definately after (ahem) orgasm. I was more relaxed with subsequent pregnancies, but it was awful wondering if it was normal or not...

Hope all is well.

Thanks everyone - nope, it doesn't hurt, definitely like I remember BH being last time round, just lots earlier.

I will ask my midwife about it next week though. Interesting about the dehydration as I don't think I have been drinking enough the last few days.
