Any advice for an alternative. I am tired and a bit cold and a bit stiff and a bit achy (sounds pathetic I know). I would die to get in a long hot bath, but we only have a shower. Any suggestions for an alternative solution?
TIA

Hi humpty sorry to hear you're feeling a bit uncomfortable!

Are you achy in any particular places? Topical heat application can be very good for achy shoulders, necks, backs etc. I have a cushion thing you heat up in the microwave that relieves my shoulder aches.

I look forward to my bath in the evening, but then I remember I can't reach the taps or my feet, I can't lay down cos I get squashed, then I have to do a weightlifters jerk (with accompanying noises) to get myself out

Have you tried a hot water bottle?

humptynumpty · 22/12/2009 16:22

Was just thinking that, sorry for sounding like a self indulgant misery!!!

Awww sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel like that, I said it so you could see you're not missing much

humptynumpty · 22/12/2009 16:28

no agent, didn't mean that. Was giving self a slap round the face to snap out of it. We went to stay in travelodge 2 weeks ago overnight and I had 3 baths!!!
I remember that part too like a beached whale stuck in a bucket and shouting dh to pull you out!

Lol @ like a beached whale stuck in a bucket and shouting dh to pull you out! yup, that sounds about right!

Oh, I know the feeling - makes me glad that the last person to own our house was an elderly lady who had many, many handrails fitted on the bath. Purely for the convenience of pregnant women, obviously...

humptynumpty · 22/12/2009 16:36

lol Jashook. We moved a couple of months ago and the new house has no bath only a shower. I loved my bath but need to move on and worry about more important things I think

I don't mind fixating on the small things, it takes up the time you'd be shitting yourself about all the hundreds of scenarios that usually go round and round in your head.

humptynumpty · 22/12/2009 16:53

too true agentzigzag!!

I've never missed a bath as much as I do now that I'm pregnant. I have got so desperate that I put a garden chair (one of those cheap green canvas things) in the shower, and let the water pour over me. It's not as good, it's not quite as warm, but it is wonderful!! I just sit there for an hour (sorry about water wastage... ). If your shower is big enough, i recommend it!

emsyj · 22/12/2009 21:18

Do you have friends/family nearby who have got a bath? I would pay them a visit just to have a soak! I couldn't live without a bath. It's the highlight of my day!
