Double pushchair or buggy board?

Hi everyone, DS will be 2.5 when my baby is born in March. He walks v slowly and sometimes dashes off!! I'm worried about using a buggy board in case he jumps off it and tries to make a run for it.

However, if I get a double pushchair will I end up using it for a few months only?

Help!

Options on table are:

Phil & Teds Vibe
Baby Jogger City Mini & Buggy Board

Thanks xxxx

There is a 2 year age gap between DC1 and DC2 and a 2.5yr gap between DC2 and DC3. I did have a double-buggy with DC1 and DC2 and I used it a handful of times before selling it. I found that DC1 was getting more independent and didn't want to be strapped into the buggy she also stopped having a nap so didn't fall asleep whilst on the move. We ended up getting a buggy board with our Maclaren and this combo has been fab with all our DC. We also use a sling with our newborn which has been really useful.

I definitely wouldn't spend a fortune on a double-buggy and perhaps consider second-hand.

Hi irene the peach was on my short list but it's just out of my price bracket. It was on 'offer' at my local baby store for £750, that included chassis, seat, carrycot, bag and footmuff.

So that's a lot of money before you've even bought the double attachment. Not on ebay yet as they are so new.

Plus side is that the single version is really light, moves very well and would fit a buggy board quite well too.

Thanks AK good idea to look at second hand

Hi, have you considered a buggy pod? They are a single seat with a wheel which attaches to the side of a pram. I haven't had personal experience of them but think they look like a good compromise.

Was going to say the Peach is over £700 ouch not seen any reviews for it yet but think for a 2 1/2 year old it's a bit much for a few months.

A second hand P&T on ebay or even a new Sport which are £300 but hold their price might be an idea?

Hi pippin yes I've seen the side-car style attachments on the web but wondered if you can still get through single doors etc, quite innovative though!

kitty love the idea of a P&T that holds it's price, looking at the vibe though as the top seat is bigger (my DS is quite tall) however, they don't come up that often

Also might be worth waiting for the January sales although I can't face how busy it might be at 30 weeks pregnant!

mumbot - I think I am getting a Vibe, quite pricey but the best idea is that you can go from single to double so you can leave the double seat in the car if you need to. Also love the big air tyres which I think are essential on a double having had 2 that didn't have them.
