Tilted uterus - will it affect my pregnancy?

While having my 12 week scan the doctor had to push hard on my bladder to see the baby and commented on the position of my uterus. I have had some comment before during smear tests, but thought nothing of it, and didn't think to ask the scanographer (sp?) if this would be a problem during the pregnancy. Not sure of the exact term they said but something like a "tilted" uterus. Anyone else have this and did it affect your pregnancy or labour at all?

Hi I have one of those and have two dc's that were both delivered naturally so don't worry.

Thanks, Mollymoo. First pregnancy and can't help being paranoid about everything!

I know someone who has one of those and she had a c section for her baby, otherwise fine.

I have a tilted uterus and it didnt affect my pregnancy at all. It's supposed to make it more difficult to get pregnant so you've already successfully passed that hurdle!

I have a tilted uterus and am expecting my 4th child. No problems with conception and I have had very fast natural deliveries thus far. Its quite common and shouldn't pose a problem - although you may find that a membrane sweep is difficult if you are overdue. Cervix tends to be too far back. Good luck with it all.

I was told my uterus was tilted when I had my dating scan. The sonographer said something like 1 in 5 women have a tilted uterus and it shouldn't affect the pregnancy. She didn't seem concerned. Does it really affect conception??? We conceived very easily.

Good, good. One less thing to worry about! Conception didn't seem to be a problem for us either. I guess there must be extremes of tilt that make it worse.

Don't worry you'll be absolutely fine. In any events, at some point during the pregnancy, I think it is meant to tilt back in the right position because of the weight of the bump
