I'm only 8 weeks pregnant and feeling and being sick 24 hrs a day, and I'm exhausted. Last time this went on until I was about 16 weeks. I'm weaning my daughter at the moment and this takes up a large part of the day and I'm at a point where I can barely go into the kitchen or open the fridge door. No idea now I'm going to cope for the next few weeks and feeling very low (I know this is partly hormonal). my DH is being amazing and in fact took today off work to look after our DD, but he can't keep doing this. Anyone survived a similar situation and able to cheer me up? Oh - and to top it all off I'm cooking turkey and all the trimmings this Saturday for the in-laws...am currently in denial about this....

Poor you! I only have one DD but had horrible MS. I really feel for you.

You need to take drastic action.

Cancel the in-laws on Saturday - or get your DH and FIL to cook the meal while you lock yourself in the bedroom with the window open, and your MIL takes DD for a walk in the park.

Weaning: just go over to jars. She will be fine. HIPP Organic are perfectly ok, and the Ella's pouches are just mushed up fruit and veg. Best of all with the pouches is that you can give them cold. You can't possibly spend your time cooking and pureeing food when you feel so sick.

Forget about Christmas - everybody will understand if you don't do cards and presents, and your DD is far too young to care. Just spend as much time resting as you can.

And don't be afraid to go to your GP and get some meds if you need too. I took cyclizine and it doesn't stop you feeling sick, but it does make it a little bit more bearable.

Good luck!

As a hyperemesis sufferer I know what it is like to feel so crappy and would just second everything inveteratenamechanger said.
