Babie was constantly moving at the beginning of the week for around 36 hours (so much soi i couldnt even sleep she was moving that much). The last couple of days she has been very quiet, would you be concerned?

Is she moving at all?

LaTrucha · 13/12/2009 18:49

I would get it checked. I did it a twice while pregnant. Once it was fine. Second time, she was fine right then but going in led to them discovering a host of problems my community midwife hadn't spotted, so I don't regret it at all.

I wouldn't be (am 35 weeks) but hopefully someone with some actual expertise will be along in a minute.

I notice massive variations in activity from day to day. As long as you are still feeling some movements (I can't be bothered to count the 10 per day, but I'm sure I must get them) then things are probably fine.

Unless you have another reason to be worried?

Northernlebkuchen · 13/12/2009 18:53

Most likely baby is fine but any reduction in movement MUST be checked. Ring the labour ward now for advice please.

LaTrucha · 13/12/2009 18:53

I think if she usually moves in a certain way or at a certain time and hasn't, I would get it checked.

mummytopebs · 13/12/2009 19:04

She is still moving but just not as much x Think i will ring cos have gestational diabetes this pregnancy and this was the week my pre-eclampsia started with dd. You just feel stupid when you get there and they they satrt booting the machine plus hospital is a 30 min drive away down country lanes

I'd rather feel stupid than worried.

Bigbadmummy · 13/12/2009 19:08

agree with all other posters about getting it checked for your own sanity.

It happened to me with all three of my pregnancies and was put down to there just not being an awful lot of room for moving about as much as before.

Eat a curry... that will get it kicking

LaTrucha · 13/12/2009 19:08

Some people say drink cold water, but it never really worked for me.

skidoodle · 13/12/2009 19:48

"ou just feel stupid when you get there and they they satrt booting the machine"

LOL

The other day I brought DD to the doctor. She'd been coughing all morning until she vomited. As soon as we arrived in she started dancing for him and saying "the dancing, the jumping". You've never seen a happier or more well-seeming child.

LaTrucha if you are worried then get it checked, and don't feel one bit silly.

If you're not worried, but just wondering if you should be, then probably don't worry unduly, but maybe make an appointment to see your midwife sooner than otherwise.

Sorry, some words disappeared - was saying I agreed with LaTrucha.
