Get your DH/DP to do it.

rubyslippers · 09/12/2009 16:51

get your DH to trim it

or take the view that if you can't see it, it isn't a problem

debstebs · 09/12/2009 16:54

sensible suggestion, but he isnt the most practical man around the house, ill either have bald spots at best or a cut lip at worst and im not fancying the latter. He may well take some training!

Tell him to just use com and scissors then.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 09/12/2009 17:02

Either get DH to do it or stand over a mirror.

Bleatblurt · 09/12/2009 17:06

God, I need specs. Read the title as 'Help, no one can see my ladygarden!'

Thought you were a flasher.

debstebs · 09/12/2009 17:10

Hmm, still not sure about the hubby, i might let him loose using his beard trimmer first as scissors sounds terrifying in the hand of another. I used to wax it all, but i guess those days are out for now.

either mirror job or waxing (which i had done)

MamaLazarou · 09/12/2009 17:29

Out of sight - out of mind!

I trim mine with a Remington Trim & Shape - it has a guard over the blade so you can just set it to grade 3 or whatever and give the whole lot a going-over without having to look. Does that make sense...?

Book a trip to the beautician for a bikini or brazilian wax.

(This remind me I need to book an appointment!)

Hi I had same problem with mad hair growth, so much so that when doctor did internal she caught some hair in clamp. ouch lol.
so last week went to beauty shop and had lovely brazilian, can't see it mind you, but feels better. best £25 i ever spent.

BusyMissIzzy · 10/12/2009 09:45

Take it from me, do NOT try using a battery operated trimmer without the guard.

lullahbelle · 11/12/2009 10:12

waxing is the only way! i have a fab friend who does it for me. it is frustrating- i hate not being able to see mine- its been awhile i'm now 38+4 wk............

bigpreggybelly · 11/12/2009 16:53

I wouldn't trim it because then you will be all itchy.

If you have a mirror on a stand that swivels and can get it at the right angle and height that helps. That's got me through to 35 weeks, but only doing bikini wax and not much more.

Now I think I'm on the Veet - have a feeling no beautician will want to do a brazilian on me any more. Also its all a bit more sensitive down there than it was before.

AngelaCarleen · 11/12/2009 17:16

veet, thats a fab idea, why didn't i think of that?

debstebs · 12/12/2009 08:03

thanks for all the help, got hubby to have a go, which was quite funny (and dare i say it a bit of a turn on) and whilst he did a good job, he wasnt confident about getting it short enough without the guard. So yesterday i treated myself to a professional waxed job. She was happy and does lots of pregnants. was a bit nervous as I usually whip the lot off myself, but she was very professional and its now great to be completely bare again, and hopefully thatll last most of the way to d day. didnt like the idea of hairs getting caught! oouch!

I looked into whether hair removal creams are safe during pregnancy, and it's a bit unclear. Similar to hair dyes; full of chemicals which may or may not pass through the skin. I'd be hesitant to use it in early pregnancy, but I have used it once, quickly, at about 26 weeks. I wouldn't use it very regularly either, but maybe I'm being overly cautious.
