Ideas for Christmas Present for My Fab Pregnant Best Friend

Hi lovely ladies.

Can you give me some ideas of what would be a thoughtful present for my fab buddy who is due in April.

I love her to pieces and would love to give her a great gift this Christmas. But I have never been that pregnant so I have no idea what would help her out.

Sadly I only have about £40-£50 to spend.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

OOh, some Burts Bees Mama products, so she can pamper herself (they also do baby stuff).

Fragrance Direct have Burts Bees stuff.

You sound like a lovely mate

a voucher for a pedicure/reflexology treatment/massage

Hi,
£40-50 is a lot of money to spend! How about a hair cut in a lovely hair salon? Or even some perfume, clarins stuff, lovely MAC/Benefit make up.

I'm with everyone else, anything to do with being pampered. I had a hand and foot massage the other day and it made me feel better for the whole day. SUCH a treat! and that was just the hands and feet.

Wish someone would do that for me!

I would agree anything that is for HER, rather than for the baby or to prepare her for life as a mummy. Perfume, a stash of chick-lit books for when she puts her feet up, choccy, smellies....

The hairdresser is a good idea, although there's some speculation over whether hair dye etc is safe in pregnancy (I'm not saying one way or the other, it's one of those personal choice things).

But if it were me and I knew when pregnant what we learn so very quickly when our beautiful babies do arrive, is that we have no time for ourselves - so I'm sure she'd love to do something lovely and spend the day with you, while she still can! Maybe get tickets to a show or comedy gig, go out for lunch, have manicures, whatever floats your boat where you can have a laugh together, as the memories of a great day out will last far longer than a bottle of smelly for your friend when she's sat up in the middle of the night trying to calm a crying baby!

Thanks so much for your replies.

I have some fab ideas now - I won't post what they are as she might just pop by here at some point.

But many many thanks - I feel inspired now!

I am due about the same time and would appreciate either a lovely maternity top that I could get lots of wear out of in the winter/early spring OR a gift set which included lots of cocoa butter goodies.

I expect my family will buy "me" things for the baby which won't be here until March. Hmm.

How lovely you are. I second everyone's suggestions of pampering products/vouchers.

Or a cheaper option - you could make her some advance babysitting tokens that you can let her redeem when she is ready. I would so love that! But then I'll have 4 children come April. No-one is falling over themselves to babysit for some reason.
