I'm only in my second trimester (16 weeks) but I too have this kind of problem! Getting up to go to the loo several times then not being able to go to sleep afterwards!

I also have the issue of DH snoring, very loudly! I have found that either going to sleep before he does or go into the spare room, which is soon to be the baby's room so I won't have that option!

I would be grateful for any tips too!

soon you will be woken at all times day and night and sleeping when you can will suit fine. can't sleep through a baby sqwauking to be fed. enjoy the undisturbed times now would be my advice

My advice would be to just sleep when you can at this stage. I'm sleeping terribly at night but then have to get up with DD at 6 every morning. Make the most of your rest and don't worry about it!!

There's a homeopathic remedy you can buy from holland & barratt called 'Noctura' which works brilliantly for me. I would also start flipping your day / night round by setting your alarm to get up at 2pm, then 1, then 12, then 11am etc until you are back the right way round again. The noctura says to take 4 hours before you go to bed, so I would take it at midnight the first night.....

You should get it cracked in a week i reckon and fairly painlessly.

You sound like you're on australian time! Treat it as jet lag and do what you would do for that.

You lucky sod! Enjoy the fact you can sleep it off later.

I have a 2 yr old who is bright and breezy at 6.30am. Last night I got my 35 week fat ass out of bed at 3am to have a bath to ease off my sore hip and back and shoulder.

I go to bed at 11pm and like you I am awake all bloody night. Can't get comfortable at all. Baby is back to back so it is imperative I sleep on my left to get optinum positioning for the baby but months of doing this has done something to my shoulder blade and back on that side and hip on the other.

I then put DS down for his nap at lunch time and sleep like a log which doesn't help later. It makes it even less likely I will sleep in the night.

If this is your first and it is working for you, don't worry about it. Your day will become night anyway so your probably getting into the swing of it now!!
