Started having painfull tightenings at about 10 last night taking my breath away and feeling like lots of pressure in my bum and very crampy these have carried on through the night and woke me up at about 4 this morning I had a blood streaked show was coming after I wiped about 4 times (tmi)
Had a bit of a runny tummy aswel.

I'm up now and no major difference apart from a real constant crampy felling in my back.

I'm only 35 weeks pregnant

I'm not saying there is anything wrong, but if it we me and I was only 35 weeks, I would ring my midwife just to be sure. I might be wrong (and I usually am) but I think 35 weeks is too early for a show.

I would definitely ring the midwife if you are only 35 weeks.

I had lots of practice runs as such - where I would have regular painful tightenings. They went away though. Labour felt similar to start but got progressively worse. I never had any kind of show with those however.

The pressure in your bum makes me wonder if it could be the real thing...call the delivery ward for their opinion.

peppapighastakenovermylife · 29/11/2009 09:00

Its not really common but I know of quite a few mums who had the start of their show quite early on - one as early as 28 weeks but still went over due.

Its the combination of pains and the show that would worry me a bit - I'm sure its fine but best to get checked out.

AnnieBeansMum · 29/11/2009 09:03

See Peppa...I did say I was often wrong. I didn't realise a show could come that early. Hope you're ok alibobins - have you rung the delivery suite yet?

alibobins · 29/11/2009 09:05

Thankyou ladies I think I was feeling a bit worried myself but needed someone to push me iyswim
Feel really strange and tearful don't know if its because I'm shattered.
This is my 3rd so you'd think I'd know but with dd waters went and ds woke up having contractions every 3 mins in agony and had him 2 hours later.

Just rang and they are happy for me to stay at home and monitor things they said it sounds like early labour but unless contractions start coming at least every 5-7 mins over a couple of hours then it may all stop
They really haven't reasured me maybe they are busy

Try not to worry too much alibobins. Have a nice long soak in the bath, a cup of tea and a rest if you can. Even if it means you and DC curing up on the sofa watching a film.

Take care of yourself and let us know if anything changes.

Hi Ali - hoping everything ok for you and that it settles down. We're finding on our ante-natal thread that a lot of us (me included) are now having really painful BH and a host of other symptoms. I saw someone in hospital the other week who had their show at 34 weeks too - apparently not so unusual. And then you can still wait weeks for the real thing to start. So - try not to panic/worry too much, but do as mw says and get rest for now and monitor what happens.

wonder if you'll be the first??!! x

alibobins · 29/11/2009 18:44

Pains still coming they settled a bit earlier but they have increased in strength in the last hour so I've begun to time them.
I don't feel that I need to rush off to hospital but definatly going to ring back if they carry on.
ctofn Bets are on that i'm one of the last lol although dh thinks he's coming tonight.
