decrease in movements at 35 wks - please reassure me....

Baby has been moving less over the past few days, however bump is hardy and feels much lower. Would not be surprised if she is engaged, however should i be worried about the decrease in movements. She used to be right mover!!!

Second pregnancy but completely forgotten what is was like with the first.

What do you think?? doctors appt in about 2 weeks so don't want to make an emergency appt and seem silly, especially since i'm in foreign country etc....

Give your mw a call. Like you said babba's probably engaged and can't move much.

i'm being taken care of by a doctor as there are few midwives here (france). tried to call the doctor but he's not there this afternoon.

However did read on babycenter.co.uk that its quite common since the baby is bigger as well. So have relaxed a little...

i really miss not having NHS direct...

it's probably just because baby is bigger and has less room for those more gymnastic manouevres!

but do get hold of your midwife/doctor to put your mind at rest!

I have had 5 babies and all movement decreased at that stage, due to bigger size of baby. The test, you should have 10 movements of the baby per hour as a rough guide according to doctors. I found eating something with sugar, like chocolate or sugary juice seemed to make the baby move. Crazy I know, but it seemed like the sugar rush worked for both me and baby. Also, I would lie and sing to the baby and he/she would move to the sound (probably telling me to shut up, it's trying to sleep).

Was advised to always get it checked if baby is moving signifcantly more or less.....try drinking cold water (supposed to get them going - don't know why...)

I have recently been given a kick chart by the hospital as my movements have decreased ALOT, I am 32 + 3. I was told I needed 10 movements in a 12 hour period and if I didnt get these, to go back into hospital.

I note someone here says ten per hour!!???
