I am 34 weeks and at last appointment 2 weeks ago the baby was transverse. For the last few days I have been having random pains really low down like below my csection scar, it feels like the baby will fall out it's so low down between my hips - clearly not explaining this very well . Does anyone know what this pain is?

Possibly the baby has turned and is now vertical, and having a lovely time bouncing on your bladder/headbutting your cervix. It is quite a sharp pain when that happens! As my MIL warned me: if it's happening often, carry spare knickers in your handbag!

pretty you are right I am also having bouncing on my bladder and when ever I get that pain I also have to dash to the loo.

Hey Shiny - nothing to add really, other than OUCH!

Hi CTOFN well I will ask the doctor at the next appointment as it is particularly bad when I am walking and then I have to stop and stand still for a minute.

It is either a low head (I felt like dd2 was going to fall out at times - if only!) or SPD. If it is SPD a chiropractor or osteopath will be able to help you with the pain, don't forget you can safely take paracetamol.

reikizen the pain literally last 1 minute and then goes as quickly as it comes - is that what spd is?

It can be, some women find it only happens with certain movement such as opening the legs (like getting out of bed or out of a car). SPD covers a range range of symptoms with some women able to carry on with minor adjustments (pillows between their legs in bed for example) and some women being wheelchair bound (very rare!) However, it could just be 'fixing pains' which are a perfectly normal (if painful) aspect of late pregnancy. And if baby has been transverse up til now, that would explain why they are suddenly causing you such problems.

Thanks reikizen I will see what the gynaecologist has to say on Friday, I would prefer the baby has moved option to spd .
