Anyone been "misled" by scan?

I'm just curious...

I am expecting DD2, found out the gender this time and with DD1 at 20 week scans. I know there is a wide debate on whether people should find out but I'm all for it.

Anyway, sonographer said "now we can only be 95% sure so if you buy anything then keep receipts". Luckily we have most things anyway so will only buy a few wee fresh vest/babygros etc.

My question is, has anyone been told the gender and then on the day had a bit of a shock when baby has been missing or has had extra bits? Has anyone been in that 5%? What did you do?

Have been told this one is a boy, sonographer said she obviously couldn't give any guarantees but given that she got a close up of the willy we were both pretty sure .

Was the only thing the little bugger would let her see without a fight!

naomi - it was last yr that it happened to us,
we had a very quick chaotic labour at home, and didnt even think to look until i got to the hospital,so i spent an hour and a half calling him 'princess' lol midwifes looked when we got there and asked if it was a boy or girl - i said girl then they pulled the towel back, made me laugh lol,
it was easy for us to accept though,we already have a boy and a girl,we didnt care which it was so long as it was healthy, my ds (4yo) was devastated though, cred for about an hour he wanted another sister!
did cost a fortune for a new carseat lol,
thing is we asked,as i said if they werent sure we would go for a 4d scan so we would def know, and they were like no its def a girl,

My sister was told her third was a girl at her twenty week scan, due to problems in later pregnancy, she had another scan and her dd was revealed to be a ds. He is one now, so it will have been about two years ago.

Found out with all three of mine at 20 weeks and correct each time.

DC3 was a girl and the sonographer spent a long time showing me the 'hamburger'. I already had 2 boys so think she wanted to be quite sure before telling me it was a girl.

We were told ds1 was going to be a girl at our 20w scan. A few weeks later I had a Baby bond scan which revealed that the first scan wasn't accurate.

At my 20 week scan we got a great shot of baby, legs completely spread, not a willy to be seen.
Had 2 more scans since then and each time ive asked about the sex and also not told them I had previously been told, (if that makes any sense...) and have beem told its a girl each time.

Have bought numerous little pink outfits even though I swore not to.

Im due in 2 weeks time.
