I'm trying to work out how/if ms will affect me at work. Would anyone be willing to share experiences of frequency, speed of the urge to be sick, if you feel better immediately afterwards etc. Do you feel nauseas all the time or just for a few minutes etc?

This could affect what I do or don't tell my bosses in early PG, so all info most welcome. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I was referring to the link to the newspaper article. I was just rather shocked by it.

As you were.

I had to tell my boss early this pregnancy as I was really bad at the beginning sick 6 - 8 times a day and looked like death warmed up and falling asleep at my desk also as I was starting a new role/new team i didn't want my new boss to think I had a perm hangover!

I'm 16 weeks and stil puking but now 1-2 times a day, the dry gagging for me can happen 20-30 times a day worse when the sickness was worse.

I also choose to tell my manager incase something happened and i needed time off work it would be easier than phoning up iykwim?

With my 1st pregnancy I found that I was sick with the teeth brushing (as others said WTF is that about?) and an occassional gag if I didn't eat often enough.

I find now commuting to work I have to wear anti-sickness bands and they help me feel less sick, as I was sick on the train a fair bit but found facing forwards, sipping water and eating something like a crossaint helped.....

If you do get sickness and you find whatever it is that works for you (I swear I was going to kill the next person who suggested ginger biscuits!) then it can be so easy to manage!

Good luck with your pregnancy and the VVVIP! I am amused to think of the queen and extra smelly ripe cheese!

Like having travel sickness 24/7. Bleugh.

I thought it would be best to let my boss know that I was pregnant so that she could see that there was a reason for me looking green around the gills every day for a few months!

I was sick in the subway, in a couple of car parks, and once on the passenger seat of my car. Happy days !

Hope you escape and if you don't that it's over quickly!

I would describe it as a bit like sea-sickness: that horrible, queasy, headachey feeling that seems like it'll never go away.

Thankfully, I only suffered for a few weeks.

All I can say is the term morning sickness is the worst misnomer of all time.

Thanks everyone! The food news is i still feel fine . Turns out my mum never had a single PG symptom, just two very easy pregnancies and labours, so here's hoping I follow her lead!
