Feeling really weighed down at 30 weeks - help!

Most of the time when I'm standing up I have this really heavy feeling in my pelvis, as though the baby is really weighing down on me. My stomach also feels really stretched. I'm not particularly big (in fact my bump is measuring small for my dates) and I'm worried that this is not normal. I knew I would start to feel differently once I was bigger, but not like this! It's fine when I sit down, but I can't stay sitting down for the next 10 weeks! Am I just being silly - do I just need to get used to this? Any advice welcome.

Am 34 weeks and feel the same, second pregnancy but can't for the life of me remember if it was the same the first time!

Think it's that the ligaments start to loosen with the weight of the baby the later it gets, or something like that! Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly.

Sorry no other advice, just wanted to say I feel your discomfort!

Hi I'm 28 weeks and whenever I'm walking it feels as if someone is pressing a pyrex bowl (well that's how i envisage it) into my pelvis. Most uncomfortable but I've assumed it's normal!

Thanks both - glad to hear I'm not alone!

I felt like this second time around

i assumed because my pelvic floor muscles were still a bit pathetic after my first pregnancy

it wasn't a nice feeling!

still, dd2 popped out nice and easily compared to dd1 so there are compensations...

Hmm - as this is my first I'm thinking I had better start doing some pelvic floor exercises - maybe this will help!
