When is an evaporation line not an evaporation line?

Ok. With two DC's already I should know the answer to this one.

I did a CB non digi test this morning. I thought a very faint line came up straight away - but really really faint. Type of line you had to squint and hold in the light to see and most people wouldnt be able to see it .

So I left it in the bathroom, went out and came back about 2 hours later to it. Picked it up to have another squint and jumped out of my skin. It is a bold positive - see it a mile off, bright blue, thick. You really cant deny its a positive at all.

In my experience evaporation lines have been faint or really thin or not the right colour. This is a definite positive line - but outside the time limit. I have never ever known in all my considerable peeing on a stick experience that to happen.

I know I need to take another test - but was wondering what you thought? Any experiences like this?

You can't hide in Starbucks forever y'know!

peppapighastakenovermylife · 06/11/2009 17:57

It was a long coffee with a copy of closer magazine high brow journal.

Ok so just to be obsessive - normal CB was faintly positive. CB digi said not pregnant.

Make of that what you will

How confusing

I really don't know what to suggest. Maybe just wait a few more days and test again. There must have been something going on to get all those positive tests so I'm really suprised the CBDigi was negative. Do you just get one in a pack with the CBDigi? Maybe test again with first wee. Maybe the long coffee diluted the HGC.

How are you feeling about the whole thing? It's a bit of a rollercoaster for you!

Warmseabreeze · 07/11/2009 07:52

Hi peppa I had a faulty CB digi, I kept using them to check the conception indicator was increasing as it should be, and got a big shock at 7 weeks when it said "Not Pregnant"!! DH rushed to Tescos to get more, and the next one came up "Pregnant 3+ weeks"......so yours could be wrong

peppapighastakenovermylife · 07/11/2009 08:03

Well I am pretty sure my period has turned up this morning. Not really heavy but a lot of cramps so cant really be implantation bleeding. Still did my other CB test - once an addict always an addict and it still came up faintly positive.

Looks like it was a chemical pregnancy I think. Still, at least I wasnt going mad. Am upset in that way when you quite want to be pregnant but know you realy shouldnt. We will probably try in the spring after my phd and viva is hopefully all finished. I suffered from hyperemesis in both pregnancies before so probably best not to be sick on my examiners

peppa- lots of people on here have recommended Superdruig tests. Maybe try one of those?

Know what you mean about your Dh's I thought I might be pg last month and took a test. DH wondered why I'd 'waste a fiver' when I'd soon know if I was pg or not. He was talking about when the bump started to show!!! It was neg btw.

girlsyearapart · 07/11/2009 08:05

x posted there peppa.

sorry to hear that- wierd that you have had so many positives though?

peppapighastakenovermylife · 07/11/2009 08:09

at your DH - why can they never understand. When the bump shows? Can you imagine waiting four or five months?! I so wish men could get pregnant.

Dont worry - we weren't trying and it wasn't the right time so for the best really. Whole thing is weird though. I have five positive CB's but that would happen with a chemical / early miscarriage wouldnt it. It would be positive and then you would get your period.

OP posts:
peppapighastakenovermylife · 08/11/2009 20:28

Hmm. Period is weird. It is heavier than implantation bleeding and still going on. But much lighter than a normal period. Especially a 'had two children' period

I would have thought it would have been heavier if anything?

OP posts:
BunOven · 08/11/2009 20:46

Maybe it's not a real period. That would explain all the positive results. There's definitely something going on but I have no idea what.

Maybe you should do another HPT when the bleeding has stopped. At this rate you really will be broke!

peppapighastakenovermylife · 08/11/2009 20:57

PMSL - I'm going to have to find a new boots - its too embarassing to go back again

ooh peppa, my implantation bleed was fairly heavy - I thought period was starting - but it tailed off in a couple of days to spotting which carried on for about 4 more days. There's a lot of wierd things going on here, I think you should test again......

ziggyf · 09/11/2009 10:32

ETA - I had lots of cramping too....

peppapighastakenovermylife · 09/11/2009 11:23

Really ziggy? I am confused.

I did the digi this morning and it said not pregnant which I would have thought would have been pregnant by now. However a cheapie ebay one had a line (but still would I guess).

Period is still really light but there. Boobs hurt. I was even sick this morning

Something is up isnt it.

OP posts:
peppapighastakenovermylife · 10/11/2009 10:32

Well today - ebay cheapie had a line but they seem notorious for doing weird things. Especially when you buy 50 for £3 or something . Need to go and get another CB

I dont think I am pregnant but I think my body does. Boobs still sore and huge (if they could get any bigger), feeling sick, exhausted. Still have slight spotting but my period only really lasted a day and didnt need to use anything after that but still there if that makes sense.

No idea what is going on . If I wasnt pregnant surely my period would have been normal? If I was pregnant then surely it would have been heavier or at least not lighter

peppa - I really think you should get a CB digital and test again, it sounds just like my experience with this pregnancy. I have also had an early m/c and the bleed was as heavy or possibly heavier than a normal period.

peppapighastakenovermylife · 10/11/2009 10:56

Thanks ziggy - I think I have to go and spend more money dont I! I just want an answer one way or the other really.

OP posts:
ziggyf · 10/11/2009 12:09

I'm afraid so! Either that or wait for a few days and see what happens. No way could I ever do that though lol.

peppapighastakenovermylife · 10/11/2009 12:26

Not a chance is there really

I have had to list stuff on ebay to fund my considerable habit

OP posts:
BunOven · 10/11/2009 19:22

I really don't see how you can NOT be pregnant. You've had so many positive tests, a late period and then only light for a day, morning sickness, sore boobs etc. If I was a betting woman I'd bet on you being pregnant for sure!

I'm off to buy shares in ClearBlue

Good luck Peppa xx

peppapighastakenovermylife · 10/11/2009 20:25

Pmsl bunoven - seriously, do

Well todays update: part two

Neither Tesco's or Boots has any digi tests...so I bought 4 normal CB ones as they were on offer (see first sentence )

Anyway...couldnt resist could I so did one - negative. Was very good and didnt waste another one and did a cheapie one this evening when hadn't pee'd for a bit. Positive straight away.

So something is going on but I am kind of past caring now - over thought it . The only thing I am worried is that I am pregnant and something is wrong - as surely the tests would all be bright positive by now. But there we go. Keeps life exciting...

Peppa I went through a similar experience recently and ended up getting the GP to do blood tests. I wasn't actually pregnant and the GP never really was able to explain all the positive tests and symptoms (for me I was always BFP on superdrug never on clearblue). Anyway blood test helped me stop spending life savings on tests going crazy.

The possible pregnancy was a total shock (DS4 months) but we would have coped and part of me is sorry I wasn't but most of me is relieved. have had a coil in since as my faith in condoms and breastfeeding was shattered by whole experience

peppapighastakenovermylife · 10/11/2009 21:21

Thank you . I think I will give it to the end of the week and then pop to the doctors. Im wondering if it was maybe a cyst...perhaps that could cause the positives and the weird bleeding.

As a positive I think we have decided to go for number three anyway. I think lol - the reality is pretty overwhelming

OP posts:
mspotatochip · 10/11/2009 22:29

Well on that note I hope you are pregnant and all is well

Its funny how these things work out sometimes we have recently started talking about No.3 as a when rather than an if since the whole experience.

BunOven · 13/11/2009 12:48

How are you Peppa? Still on that rollercoaster? Hope all is well x
