My dd is due any day now but her baby has only moved twice today, she is realy scared and I can't remember if this it is normal for the baby to quieten down just before the birth (it was 23 years ago I had her). I have told her to phone the labour ward for advice.

Can you believe it no baby yet!!!!!

dd is still getting pains but they don't seem to be progressing any further, she is so tired.

When they put her on the monitors the pains were telling her she was half way there, but it seems to have slowed down. She has been told that the second stage is likely to be very quick so to make sure that she can get to the hospital as quick as she can.

I'm confused surely she can't have been in labour all weekend?

it is possible! i was in labour for 3 days... hope you won't have to wait much longer

Squirrel3 · 13/06/2005 08:32

Lilaclotus, thank you, I hope so too, she hasn't been able to sleep, she is going to be to tired to be able to give birth at this rate.

I was in labour for 2 days with my second baby and that seemed like forever, 3 days must have beem awful, but this is the 4th day for dd.

Any suggestions to 'move things along' a bit?

they told me to walk around, rather than stay on the bed. that's the only thing i can remember.

Squirrel3 · 13/06/2005 08:43

She's walking around, well she has got a 3yr old so she is running around after him (well as much as I'll let her lol)

jessicasmummy · 13/06/2005 08:48

sex?
pineapple?
raspberry leaf tea?

Squirrel3 · 13/06/2005 08:55

She has been using rasberry leaf tea, didn't know about pineapple....

As for sex... this is my daughter we are talking about.... she's a virgin... will still be a virgin until she's 35!!!! lol
(I'll suggest it to her, but I think that nothing is going to put her off the idea as much as her mother sugesting that her and her dp do it, lol)
