I'm at least 6 days overdue with DC3 and have absolutely NO signs of anything happening....

I might even be 10 days overdue (according to scan).

Ugh. I don't have any exciting mucous plugs or false labour to obsess over. I just feel normal.

Any stories of overdue labour suddenly happening with no prior hints? Pleeeease??

I had a sweep at 9 days over. No show, no BH, no mucus, nothing. twinges started a couple of hours after the sweep and DC born later that day!

PfftTheMagicDragon · 16/09/2009 21:04

You know...all that food just increases the chances of you pooing everywhere during labour, it's got to happen now!

SpawnChorus · 16/09/2009 21:07

Pfft how could you!!

PfftTheMagicDragon · 17/09/2009 08:07

Well, it happened to me, just trying to make myself feel better!

Not that you will care at that point anyway...at 9 days over I would have endured a lot more to get her out!

StealthPolarBear · 17/09/2009 10:46

did the emergency cord help?
No signs here!
Actually I got this name at 9 months pregnant last time

SpawnChorus · 17/09/2009 10:50

No...nothing happening. I'm trying to convince myself that my very long hot bath this morning has triggered a bit of pelvic achiness, but it's wishful thinking. My bump is truly enormous and I'm getting quite worried that this baby is going to beat DC2's 10lb 9oz...

How about you Stealth?

StealthPolarBear · 17/09/2009 12:33

No, got excited thinking I was having mild contractions this morn ing but it doesn't look like it.

Scorps · 17/09/2009 12:40

You need to go and hold some newborns

God i remember being iverdue and i don't want to be overdue with this baby (dc4). I am due Xmas Day and hoping for a birth of around the 22nd, please.

StealthPolarBear · 17/09/2009 12:46

Well I did dig out a little album I made of DS from birth (including ones in hospital, so only an hour old) to under 3 months to see if it set anything off.
Don't think I can get hold of a newborn quickly - without going to the maternity ward anyway, which would be odd for the other mums, and depressing for me!

SpawnChorus · 18/09/2009 19:30

I'm feeling so terribly huge...nothing happening.

Lucky lucky Stealth is in pain has abandoned me.

Boo hooo.

Oh God I'm still here

Getting a bit desperate now. I've walked for MILEs this weekend and have even had sex....TWICE!

My bump is ridiculously massive. I'm really getting worried this baby's going to be bigger then DS.

I'm also getting tons of pressure and stabby pains in my lower bump / pubic bone. Not contractions (BH or otherwise). It's triggered by the movement (baby's or mine).

I am really really despairing and worrying that the baby is in some weird position which is prohibiting labour

Can you feel the butt under the ribs and the back going down? If so, you should be good...

I was over 5 days, no signs or anything, was going to have csection in two days. Then woke up at 3 am because bed was wet as water had broken! Yipii! They had to induce then as no contractions or ANYTHING. God, that was nice, couldn't stand being preggers anymore and certainly didn't want stupid c section just because baby couldn't be bothered.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 21/09/2009 07:19

I hope for your sake that you are not still waiting, spawn..... Have you had a sweep?

SpawnChorus · 21/09/2009 08:13

Pfft - very much still pregnant Pfft...Have started a whole new ranty thread. Am off to see MW this morning, and I'm in two minds about having sweep. I'm Group B strep positive, and I'm just very reluctant to take any intervention that might increase the risk of infection or of waters breaking before labour.

OP posts:
warthog · 21/09/2009 08:15

in that case i would not have a sweep.

there is no good statistical evidence that they actually do anything.

they didn't work for me anyway.

SpawnChorus · 21/09/2009 08:42

Ugh...not really what I wanted to hear

How about an internal exam, just to see how effaced / dilated I am? Do you reckon that's risky and / or pointless too?

OP posts:
warthog · 21/09/2009 08:44

is this your first?

warthog · 21/09/2009 08:45

ah 4th dc...

well i don't know - you know better than me!

SpawnChorus · 21/09/2009 08:45

No, it's my 3rd. The other two came 8 days late.

well i reckon either a sweep or not. what will internal tell you if you know you're not in labour?

i think you need another bonk.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 21/09/2009 12:08

Spawn what are their "plans" for you at the hospital? Are your dates correct, I rememebr at the start of your thread you said you might be more than you thought?

It's awful isn't it? I don't know anything about group B strep so can't advise and have had mixed experience with sweeps. Went into labour hours after one, the other did nothing. But then, both of mine arrived 9 days after due so maybe the sweep did nothing and that's when she was ready?

sending you (non-pooing ) labour vibes...
